    OK, I'm confused. :evillaugh

I stayed at PH some months ago, it was my first time to Vegas in 4 years. I played Roulette most of the time I was there. I have visited my local CET twice in the last month. I do not consider myself a high roller in the least, however, I received an email from a Casino Sales Executive and a VIP survey from my local CET.

I have never been contacted before and I was really surprised by these two emails. The executive explained their purpose and would like me to consider using their services on my next trip to Vegas yet to be determined.

Is there some type of "stroking" going on here? Are they trying to entice me to play more or spend more? I just can't believe my play warranted this. I stick to dollar slots and no more than $15 or $25/hand BJ and $10 Roulette.

    I was flattered :nworthy:

Is there a difference between a host and Casino Sales Executive?

I don't think I'm a host type! If I do go to Vegas 90% of the time Im a solo traveler and using their website CET makes it easy to book a comped room. I'm not sure I have a use for this "VIP" treatment.

I'm confused with CET's Casino appointments too......not to be a downer, but I'll give you my CET experience if nothing other than to possibly prepare you on your expectations, or, maybe I've just had a "unique" experience.....I really don't know.

I made one trip Nov/2013, played at PH, came home and was appointed a casino executive......totally shocked as I really didn't think my play warranted it.

Made a trip Jan/2014, booked through the person. Botched setting up my free play, took me an hour to get it for how it was showing on system. Had a food credit, but it was refused at check out as I ate at PF Changs, and although showing as a total rewards partner, said it couldn't be used there.

Tried to book a trip using her May 2014, but she never returned the e-mails to book it in, so I did it myself 4-5 days later, grateful that the offer I was getting in on was still available, sometimes CET sells out of their offers. Made a change to my reservation, but because I had a host coded to my file automatically, took extra steps to do it cause then I had to be transferred to VIP services. After I finished play that trip, went to a host on duty for the remaining $30 in charges after my rewards credits applied. They refused it, and told me to go stand in line to take care of the charges. My THEO should have covered hundreds, but, for some reason they sent me away.

At this point, I sent a letter to CET basically saying they should review who they send host appointments to, the lack of returned e-mails etc I frequently hear about etc, maybe they should raise their standards as perhaps these people are swamped with too many clients to manage. I'd prefer to have no one attached to my file to make my personally booked trips easier to manage than having to go through VIP etc. Ended up getting a return call from the original non responsive exec apologizing for not seeing my "second" e-mail request. Guess the first one was on purpose, lol? Didn't bother to try and deal with her.

Booked in another offer myself September 2014. The day after I returned home, I get a call from another executive from CET, stating he has been set up as a secondary host to my account, to handle any other CET property, even though my understanding is that the original host is to be able to book anywhere CET. Really? I didn't want any, and now I have two hosts. I am not a high roller, and CET has only had about half my play at that. Admittedly they probably got about a $3500 loss out of me last trip, but that kind of play hardly requires TWO hosts, lol. May try the second guy for my next trip, not sure yet.

I have a host at Cosmo, and that one has been perfect, as to what I thought a host would be.

My guess is that CET hands out the Host/exec appointments pretty freely in an attempt to make people feel VIP and gain loyalty.....but it will be luck of the draw as to if you get a good one or not. The problem is if the exec's don't return emails etc, then you actually feel worse than had they not appointed anyone in the first place.

Congrats on getting the appointment though, hope you do get a good one!!!

    Thanks for the reply.

Now now, no good lucks are to be given just yet hahaha. I'm not really sure it's worth it. In the email, the executive stated they could book me anywhere CET had a hotel. I think I'll wait and if they reach out to me again I'll consider replying. I don't plan on taking a Vegas trip for a while anyway.

Not sure but this could be an independent rep that has an agreement with CET.
I periodically receive solicitations from several of these guys.

Our experience mirrors VegasChic's. Getting a host-ish is not nearly as exciting as CET would have you believe.

Not to be a downer but nearly all casinos in Vegas send out these fishing emails from hosts. The executive hosts are tied to a property and they often send out mass emails to get you to stay there. I replied to one from an executive at Luxor telling her that I would consider staying with them again since its been 5 years since I last booked there. I told her the Bellagio, a sister property, sends me offers for $100 in free play and $100 in didning credit to go along with the free room. She said she checked my play in her system and she couldnt do that. The best she can do is to book my corporate offer which was 2 nights and $30 in FP. I asked why she reached out to me if she couldnt match another casino's offer within the same ownership and all she can do was book my standard offer that I can do myself. She replied "It was just a mailer".

And I get those VIP surveys with nearly every single visit I have with CET. They promise I can be entered to win $500 or something foolish. I took a few and they are all the same "Do you care about Code Green?" ETC. So these emails usually fall on JR hosts after we are sorted like cattle and thats why you never actually get much value from them.

On the flip side I have had hosts reach out to me by name, thanking me for my play on a certain visit, going over my play that day and how much more than can do for me and telling me to contact them during my next stay. These direct host to player emails do actually payoff and I've found some great hosts by doing this. but the mass mailers are nothing much more than marketing. Sorry.

Thanks! You are not being a downer, I started this post to get to the bottom of that email hahahahaha. The email I received does address me by name and the signature reads "Caesars Entertainment".

But I'm not going to entertain them at this time. I want to see if they reach out to me again, by name lol.

By any chance was it someone named Scott Reath? Was your name in a different color text then the rest of the email? If so it was just cookie cutter and I get these all the time even though I have a specific host at most CET properties that reach out to me by name and actually know me and my play.
