A few months ago, I was given a free year's subscription to the online version of Casino Player magazine from The D. Everything worked fine until now. It seems half the pages won't load and it's always the good pages too! Like this month is the "Best of Gaming" issue and of course I can read the intro page for the ratings on downtown casino's but the actual results page shows blank. It loads the results pages for Iowa just fine though :grrr:

Anyone else having this problem with the online edition or is it just me?

I also have a free subscription and the August, most recent, has several blank pages. The ones not loading are 14-15, 18-19, 24-25, 38-39, 42-43 and 54-55. I
guess we are getting what we for.

It's a conspiracy. They don't want you to know the real facts.

Interesting Westie, my missing pages are different than yours. I tried it again this morning and got a different result. I guess we are getting what we paid for!

These "best of" surveys aren't really believable anyhow. Since it's voted on by the reader's of the magazine, I think the results say more about their readership than anything else. So I was curious to see what results they came up with for this magazine.

Here's what I managed to read this morning, in answer to the following questions about downtown casinos:

Best hotel, best hotel staff, best rooms, best suites, best hotel for vacation, best player’s club, best promotions, best dealers, casino where you feel luckiest, best video slots, best blackjack and finally, best casino overall...

    Are you ready...drum roll here....

The winner in ALL those categories was The Downtown Grand. They pretty much swept the awards. Almost all categories were between the Grand, The Nugget and The D with the Nugget and D swapping places for 2nd and 3rd. Not a mention anywhere of The Californian, Fremont or Golden Gate.

So we may not really know who has the Best Casino (it's pretty subjective anyhow) but we do know now who is reading their magazine.

I have a feeling you were being sarcastic Breeze but you may be on to something there. Hardly real facts there but it could be a bit of a conspiracy. By making us log in 3 or 4 times to view the whole issue (which I personally can't be bothered to do but other readers might) it would increase the number of page views of their magazine and that helps them with ad revenues in the long run. There's always a way to manipulate numbers.
