Just got back from 5 nights there. My impressions of the hotel, casino and Tuscon in general. Dont want to bore anybody with the details of our flight, suv rental and drive except to say that its the better part of 2 hrs from Phoenix and is not hard to find and is located on a main drag with all kinds of services nearby. Did some tourist stuff while there,my nephew drove down from Mesa and took us down town and showed us the tourist district. We did a couple of other day trips ,one to Tombstone and another up to a national park and to the mission nearby. The hotel itself is really nice , pretty new ,small but very well maintained and very clean . The pool area is pretty ,nice lounges, umbrellas ,palm trees etc. The restaurants are not bad considering the size of the place, prices are reasonable ,a 24 hr coffee shop,a good steak house,,chinese, and mexican. Really nice cocktail lounges with some excellent happy hour deals on drinks and food. Ganmbling, If you go there ,apply for a card .They give you $10 free play and if you rack up 50 pts in the the first 24 hrs. you get a $20 food comp. Theres two casinos connected by a hallway. The old one is really smoky, couldnt stand it for very long. The new one is beautiful ,better ventilated. No free drinks in AZ by law ,but you can use points. Black Jack was 3/2 with plenty of $5 tables. No roulette, craps or bac. tables(not enough room) I came home a winner both on slots and BJ. They are building a golfcourse in the back of the hotel and there's an ampitheater next door that attracts some big names. I have to say the staff was wonderfull, couldnt be nicer and more helpfull . Enjoyable week out there and would definitely recommend the hotel .
