That is what you call a coffin on 4 wheels. I cant image driving that contraption on our roads here is S.W. Pa with all the large truck traffic let alone the roads in Vegas.

with a top speed of 49mph it is probably illegal on most major highways at least in most states because they usually have a minimum speed limit as well as a max and even without a minimum speed limit you can still get the ticket for unsafe driving

Looks like it would be a coin toss as to you would come out better in a crash...the guy on the rascal or the guy driving the Twizy.

I never paid attention to CA or NV but I thought it was a Federal minimum speed on the Interstate of 45 mph. I know it is here in WI. But since states can raise the max, maybe they can also raise the minimum?

yes states can have a higher minimum if they desire I have seen 50 or 55 in some places as a posted min

and there is also the "impeding traffic" ticket as well which would be similar to reckless driving...just because you "can" do something that does not mean it is safe

you can go 70 on the highway in a blinding snowstorm on a road covered with black ice and iced over bridges, but that does not mean it is safe and that you can't get some type of traffic violation

so you probably "can" go 45 on the freeway in some places, but that does not mean you are being safe or an intelligent driver or not putting yourself or others at risk

That plate isnt a normal CA plate, its either a DLR Dealer or DST Distributor - Id bet it was a promotional deal or driving it around Vegas trying to find dealers for them or something, highly doubtful it was driven from CA. Could even be in town early for SEMA or something.

They could have brought it as their "around town" vehicle, towed behind an RV.

Interesting car, not sure Id ever drive one.

The no license one would be suited for kids going to schools on large campuses. Nice alternative to a golf cart/moped I guess.

That looks like a 'DST' (Manufacturer) plate, since Renault doesn't have a presence in the US and I can't imagine a dealer would have the inclination or resources to get one registered here. Nissan has a relationship with Renault, although I have no idea why they'd import a Twizy. I suspect this is a press car as most of the vehicles loaned to auto journalists have DST plates on them.

That's an electric car. It'd be a pain to drive in from CA with only 62 miles max between charge ups.

Yup, that's most likely what happened.
I've seen similar ones on the back of HUGE RV's before.
If it got 60 miles per charge and had a top speed of 45, I'd rock that thing all around Vegas! (Valet up and plug it in, voila!)

Out in the Laguna Hills area I remember seeing people driving golf carts on city streets. I don't know how legal this is/was but I remember looking to see if they had license plates and they did not.
