If Cavs win, I break even.
If Thunder win, I win $27.
Why didn't you times it by 100 or 1000
Too chicken! I had to make the Thunder bet early this afternoon, before it was announced that Lebron wasn't going to play. They only said he was a scratch about 30 min ago, and the line moved enough for me to straddle.
You gotta let me know about these things. These are like Mayweather fights. Easy money
This is what i call a good bet. Lol
Wait, did you book these on the same ticket? Surely a sportsbook would be able to self-detect arbitrage.
I'm on Sacramento +1 for 1k tonite. I wanted to take clev because when a major player is out, they usually win or cover but was too late putting it in.
Booked at different times, the line moved 30 min before game started because Lebron was a scratch.
He basically hedged/cancelled his play. I don't think the books are worrying about arbitrage when the winning could be $27.
I was thinking of making a bigger bet on the Thunder earlier in the day because Lebron had missed morning shoot arounds, in anticipation that he might be a scratch just before game time. Then the line would move enough for me to hedge with a straddle. But the risk there is that I could have been on the hook for a much larger bet on the Thunder if Lebron played and the line didn't move.
Next time I see an opportunity like this, I will put it out here, with an explanation of the potential play and risks involved.
Thats risky if you bet big early. Everything make sense now.
Good catch on the line change for the can't loose bet
Yup that is why I only bet $195 initially. But if I had the guts to bet $2k, I could be looking at a 0 or $270 win......
Great work PT!
Would've been really tough to lay big money on the Thunder early, since the Cavs have been hot recently and OKC is still trying to find their rhythm while getting KD and Russ back in the mix.
