It's like when you practicing on the putting green, you don't want any of the long ones to go in.They will go in when you are in las vegas good luck.

I am mostly a BJ, pai Gow, and some slot player. About 10 months ago I started "practicing" video poker using a 10 play simulator. I have logged in close to 300 hours. I estimate about 5 hands per minute (50 on the 10 play), so that's 3000 per hour. 900,000 opportunities over 10 months (300 hrs). I have had 1 royal flush. Not my game for sure.

You really don't want to hit a Royal while practicing. Save it for Vegas! My last Royal was in practice a week before my Feb. trip...bah

And check the TAG lounge beer thread. I linked the pics of the menu that Rubos took awhile back.

I think like that too, even though the odds are the same since each event is unrelated.

Keno60, you were right! Day 2, went to get breakfast (coffe and a muffin) and sat at a bank of 9/5 DDB and hit my first Royal within 20 minutes!!! I think I flew out of my chair! Luckily I had finished my coffee by then! Drew to AKT of clubs. Will post the pic when I get home. !!!!!

Good Luck Fenway. I could never hit them in simulation either. My trip was great, although I got my ass handed to me all trip. I'm a low roller so small budget & I lost at everything I played this trip it sucked!!!!!!!! I had to take a cash advance on my credit card, it was that bad. But about 6 hours before my flight, my friends sat down at video poker in Harrah's at Toby Keith's pit right as you walk in. I watched them play for a while and finally sat down and decided to play with what little cash I had left. SO put $100 in and went down $30 and then got this IMG_0820.jpg it saved my ass this trip!! Got home at 4:30pm last night, needless to say work sucks today!!!

I think I played for 20+ years and never got one, and then, Bam, I've hit 3 in the last 2 years. Go figure.

they come in spurts it seems, I went years before my first one in local casino, probably went another 3 years before the next one, which I then hit 7 that year alone, now I average one every year and I don't play video poker as much as I should. Last year was my first in Vegas at Bally's, been going for 25 years sometimes twice a year.

Considering a royal comes on average around once in 42,500 (forty two thousand five hundred) plays then I'd say you were doing good if you ever hit one.

The house will still make around $250 bucks on you so you had better get a shit load of free drinks or buffet comps along the way.

But....have fun. Isn't that why we do it?
