Back in the day, they use to have these restriction that you needed to have 48 hours in between room offers. But I routinely got this waived by hosts, and they would book me back to back at different properties. Is this still the case or have they buckled down and hosts can no longer do this?

From my experience, they won't connect two offers but are willing to add comped nights onto the back of your upfront comps if your play warrants it. The big players here may have a different experience.

Exactly, level of play. And if you tip well, a host will "Your wish is my command"..but I also know many who totally go by the book. Depends on your play.
