I believe the answer is yes. I used my express comps on buying a pillow at the Aria 2 weeks ago.

Just do it, and then when you check out, tell the front desk that you would like to pay the bill with your express comps.

You can use ExpressComps like cash to pay down your hotel bill. Minibar charges go on your hotel bill. So yes.

I'm not sure whether the MLife desk can apply ECs against your bill (in which case you could have them do it, then check out on the TV or phone) or whether you have to do it by checking out at the front desk (pain in the ass).

Yes - the Mlife desk can apply ECs against your bill. It is always a good practice to swing by the desk for exactly that as they can also apply any discretionary comps at the same time.

    Thanks...
Another Q for the experts...does applying express comps at checkout trigger a gambling day at mlife? Or is your ADT for the trip, checkout day included anyway?
    Thanks again

Wow, I'm really surprised you could do this. I would have thought it would be considered retail. But I'm going to be all over that in October when I stay there. I love their pillows and I have $1,300 in EC's.

Mlife doesn't record it as "gambling days" if you are staying there. They just take your total play over the course of your trip to determine your ADT. In other words, the moment you check in, MGM has already determined how many "days" you will gamble

Yeah, I was surprised as well. Where did you purchase the pillow?

I believe they sell them in the gift shop by the valet (sky suite valet?), facing vdara. I have purchased Bellagio pillows and sheet sets from the gift shop at Bellagio. Btw, I now realize Bellagio pillows are too soft (need to double up), so will see how Aria's are again in a couple weeks.

From my experience, you can't buy items in that store with EC. Has that changed? Just for certain items or everything?

Actually, UK, you may be right. I think I used a credit card when I purchased from Bellagio. I guess I will find out for sure if EC's can be used, in a couple weeks.

Cool. If they are now letting us use EC for retail purchases, please let everyone know!

This would be a first - ability to buy retail stuff.

Minibar is covered. Maybe the pillow gets added to the room and not considered retail.
