Can I check my luggage at the Bell Desk if I'm not a guest at Bellagio?

We are arriving early and want to hit the Bellagio buffet before heading downtown where we are staying. Trouble is we'll have our luggage. I'm sure I've done this before but I remember reading recently somewhere (I think) that sometimes this isn't allowed. I would think it's in their best interest as I will gamble and spend money at their buffet while I'm there but...just want to double check.

Sure, just tell them you are checking out. I do it all the time. They will ask checking in or out so they know where to put your bag.

You can leave your luggage at any hotel while traveling - my wife and I do it regularly. Just tell them you're staying there if they ask (even if you aren't) and tip accordingly (which is what they really care about). It's a good way to safely and securely take care of your luggage.

It was no problem earlier this month. We checked out of Vdara.. took the walkway to Bellagio, handed the luggage to the bell desk and went to the buffet... They never asked if we were checking in/out or if we were staying there. I don't recall any bell desk ever asking me if I was a guest at their property.

Yeah, you don't need to try and trick or dupe them by saying you are a guest or are checking out - just go up and say "I need to check some bags" and they will take them and give you a slip for them that you bring back later when you are ready to go. Our last seven trips to Las Vegas and a few trips to other cities we do this: check out of our hotel, go somewhere else and check bags at another hotel for the convenience.

OK thanks, I've done it too and always thought it was never a problem but I swear I remember reading on here that some hotels required you to be a guest...I guess not. Thanks again!

I do this all the time and I always get asked checking in or out. I guess most places put bags for guests that are checking in into a different area so they can be carted up to the room if requested. If you are checking out they know to keep the bags up front near the desk since there is no chance they will have to be carted. Not saying others are wrong. If they dont get asked so be it. Just be prepared if they do ask. Say checking out.

This has always been my experience also. All they care about is the money. It doesn't cost them anything and it's probably about the easiest job they can do. Put your bags in a back room and get a few bucks in return. I'm sure they love people like us.

If they won't do it, go to CP. I'll make sure they can store it for you there.
