I’m not going to post a lengthy report here……just the gambling details. DH and I were in Vegas for the Wynncore Free Play Frenzy tournament from 10/16 through 10/20. We won the minimum amount of free play……$150 for registering early, $400 for showing up and $100 for picking a magnet off of the super hero board. Our name was not drawn for any of the bigger free play prizes. Still, $650 for a free tournament was a good deal. My gambling: Things were going great for the first 24 hours……..I hit aces with a kicker at TDB for $4K on Wednesday afternoon. Then, got a quick hit jackpot for $1048 on Thursday morning followed by a $600 spin of the wheel of fortune dollars. After those three hits……pictures below…….I couldn’t hit a darn thing. I didn’t have a single hit of over $400…..no aces, no 2’s, 3’s or 4’s with kickers, nothing on the slots, nada, zilch, zero. So, my $2000 ahead on Thursday at noon turned into a $5000 loss by Saturday night…..sigh…….. DH gambling: DH had a horseshoe up his …… this trip. Yes, the man who gambles at about half of my amount was on fire this trip. He hit the $ progressive royal at Wynn for $7093, hit aces w/k at DDB for $2K, aces w/k at TDB for $4K, was DEALT quad 2’s w/k for $2K and somehow, managed to hit three triple diamonds for another $2400. In between, he seemed to be hitting quad aces left and right and finished up the trip with an extra $13K. I have some pictures of his jackpots that I need to get from him, so will post these later. Yeah, I was a teensy bit envious, but we did go home with money as a family, so that’s a good thing. We ate at SW Steakhouse and were seated on the patio. They had a new side dish called lobster gnocchi that was likely the best side dish I have ever eaten. As usual, everything was great, including the service. I had the crab cake and petite filet and DH had the tomato heirloom salad and the chicken. The steak was cooked to perfection. SW is my favorite restaurant at Wynncore, although breakfast at Tableau is a close second. And a big thank you to the cashier at Wynn who told us there was a dragon chip at Encore and actually ran over there and got it for us. We’ve been collecting the commemorative Chinese new year chips since Wynn opened and missed this one and haven’t found it on ebay or any other site. What a stroke of good fortune to finally get that chip. Here’s your sign (tribute to Bill Engvall): To the guy that got on the elevator with me on the ground floor of the tower suites bank and asked me “is this elevator going up?” Seriously? It’s the only way it can go. To the woman on Saturday night in the elevators (we were on the 52nd floor) as we were headed down to catch the red eye “are you checking out?”…..no, we always wheel our luggage through the casino….. I’m not really grumpy, just wish people would think before they open their mouth and ask the obvious. LOL So that’s it………we’re headed to Aria for a slot tournament on Thursday; thus, no time to post any more details. Still don’t know how I managed to talk my DH into two Vegas trips in 10 days…….need to review my notes on that one.
