    My Trip Report

Drove from Erie, PA to Pittsburgh for a direct flight on Southwest on June 23rd. We stayed for 3 nights at Harrah's./ No wait to check in. We had planned on eating at Harrah's Café. There was construction at the site. The results will be pretty cool. (pictures were posted outside of the construction area) Construction was also a problem at the pool area. Harrah's pool is nothing special, but they had extra lounge chairs around a small sprinkler pool. This entire area around the sprinkler pool was closed for repairs. Why do this in the summer?

Shows We saw Gordie Brown at the Golden Nugget. He is very talented. He went for 2 hours.
We enjoyed "Mama Mia" at the Tropicana on Wednesday night. The cast was enthusiastic.. My wife and I had seen the play abou10 years ago in Toronto. The show was not even close to a sellout. The Tropicana is a very clean casino.
Meals Most expensive= Buffet at Planet Hollywood. I thought it was better about five years ago.
Tastiest - Rueben at Carnegie' in the Mirage My wife and I split it. Great value.
Gambling - Came back with half of the $ that I took for gambling. Played slots- mostly pennies.
Drink service - great at Harrah's except for Monday night.
    Best at Wynn and Margaritaville
    Lousy at Palazzo
    Closing thoughts
I should play blackjack next time.
I wish that the price for Buffalo and Erie flights were less expensive.
Air Conditioning -Bring long sleeves on the trip.

Thanks for posting. Seems like y'all had a fine time. Always good to come home with some of the money you were willing to risk.

Thanks for sharing, sounds like a good time. How much did you pay for SW flights? That has to be a pretty long one too!

My wife and I are originally from the Toronto area and regularly flew out of Buffalo to Vegas as the cost of flights were about half of what they were from Toronto. We've now moved to within a 20 hour drive to Vegas, being in Calgary, and the flights are even more expensive and can run about $1000 each if you don't find a seat sale.

I'm in Ontario and flew SW out of Buffalo for many years but the fares have been jacked to Toronto prices (unless SW has a sale) for a couple of years with Westjet often being cheaper during a sale. For cheaper fares we make the drive to Detroit now.

Congrats on bringing half your bankroll home, practicalky a win! You have to wonder about the geniuses that do pool construction in the summer! PHo buffet has really gone downhill over the past few years for sure. I will be hosting and booking a show for the group of 11 we have coming to Vegas for hubby's birthday later this month....had planned to book Carrot Top on Goldstar but sadly they no longer have CT tickets. What are your thoughts on Mama Mia for a group, a good something for everyone show? Because I'm paying for 11 people I'm looking at shows I can get discount tickets for and Zgoldstar does have Mama Mia.

If you liked the music of Abba, you will love the show. The play is much better than the movie.
