Looks like they are getting rid of that Cal Lanai restaurant (next to the entrance to go out to binions). I sure hope that they are just redoing it because it was very popular with the Hawaii crowd. The Market St. Café is nice for a sit down meal but many of us like the Cal Lanai because of the quick service, short wait times and seldom much of a wait line, easy seating and local Hawaiian food in addition to the snacks. Most of the vacations Hawaii charter people use up their food coupons to pick up the caramel popcorn, rolls, candy and sushi. I doubt that the Market St. Café can provide the same service, plus the lines get long there and they realy can't handle the extra crowd from the Cal Lanai. I think this Cal Lanai has a heck of a lot more business than that Yucky noodle house, maybe they should move the lanai to that area instead.

After seeing the new "spiffy" casino cage the pics are what I expected out of the redo of the front desk. No real big changes to the layout, just that like the casino cage they wanted to make the place look more like a "classy" casino that you see on the strip. I also hope that they add the couches back to the front desk area. The place now looks nice and open but there isn't anyplace for the old people to sit while their SO's wait in the line to check in (except for the 2 seater along the wall).

I will be visiting the place in about 44 days so I will make sure that I voice my displeasure if they get rid of the Cal Lanai.

Yes...Every time I walk in that door that Cal Club is packed. A lot of people will miss it if it is gone for good.

I'm gonna miss the Cal Club. I wonder what's going to happen to the employees there. They were hardworking and very nice.

Whenever I got hungry I would go there when I'm not in the mood for a sit-down meal. I would order their Burger/fries/drink special (their burger was great and huge and juicy) and take it up to my room. They also make a killer sirloin vegetable stir fry and another favorite of mine was their hamburger steak with gravy and rice.

Was I reading the article right? Their gonna tear this great place down and put more....slots? Are they serious?

The Cal mgt. must be smoking some funny weed. This place is busier than their Cal Noodle House. Why don't they tear THAT place down and put slots there? Or better yet, bring back the Pasta Pirate!!
