I had booked Luxor but got an offer match from CP.

I'd like to read the boards thoughts on the advantages of CP compared to Luxor. Mostly interested in the Hotels, rooms and pools themselves compared, as I already know the advantages / disadvantages associated with the location on the strip.

Really curious about an "offer match". Never heard of them doing that, especially at what CET considers their "top" property. Many people check for rooms at CET and see free rooms at most resorts, but rarely Caesars Palace.

Overall, I would say CET is much better. Other than location, how will it work for as to playing, eating, etc. Players club points?

There is no comparison. Caesar's is far superior to Luxor in every aspect.

I'm not sure if this is a real question or you are joking.
I'm not a CET fan but Caesars Palace is the top property in their chain and Luxor is near the bottom of the MGM hotels in Las Vegas.

As long as your Caesars offer is not for a room in the Roman tower, definitely Caesars. I personally wouldn't stay in a Roman Tower room, any other tower is far superior to Luxor.

My Apologies for mis-use of the term "Offer Match". To be more specific I had an offer for 3 free nights at Luxor and jumped on it. Then about two weeks later, I got an offer for 3 free nights at CP and am tempted to jump on it.

The way I had originally typed "Offer Match" implied I presented my offer from Luxor to CP and they matched.

Thank you all for the good insights. Much appreciated.

Caesar's hands down if your comparing the two. I personally don't care for the vibe i get at caesar's as I feel more comfortable at PH but as far as the rooms I have always had they are great. Pool is pretty good. I have had the roman tower booked several times but never ended up in it as I have been upgraded at check in every time I have stayed there. No brainer in my opinion.

I used to love Luxor. It was my home base until the vibe got sucked out of the place. I stayed at Caesars once back in 2009 in the Augustus Tower and it was a really nice room.
I do not care for Caesars casino or dining but I haven't tried the new buffet as of yet. So personally other than the Augustus room and Qua Spa I doubt I'd stay at Caesars again.
I definitely would not stay in a lesser room there that's for sure. As far as Luxor goes I'd stay there again if it was a last resort. But my new home base for the time being is Wynn.

    Okay...

You do know that folks almost always have more and better offers OTHER THAN the actual offers, right?

Go to the CET website and enter your dates and no offer code. You might be surprised to what you will see.

    No brainer

Caesars all the way--EVEN if you get the Roman Tower. (I wouldn't stay there, I would choose nearly any other CET property over that room) BECAUSE CP is VERY good about offering upgrades--sometimes gratis, sometimes w/ $20 trick, sometimes for a small daily fee.

Caesars is better in EVERY regard...rooms, pools, casino, location, proximity to many restaurants & shopping. The only negative is that it is a very large property BUT considering its central location, that really isn't a factor here--if you are planning to see any of the STrip at all you would be walking A LOT from Luxor. I love a central property--work our way south one day, north another.

Luxor is one of the few options that would make me take a Roman Tower room considering the age.

Since my next stay will be at CP, this post interest me a lot. I got comped in the Forum Tower and planned to try the upgrade to one of the other Towers but is the Roman tower really that bad? To that matter, is the Forum Tower adequate? (The website said they were just remodeled). Just curious what our posters think.....

I will be at Caesars in August, never stayed there. I'm also comped in the Forum Tower but plan on using the $20 trick and upgrade to the Palace Tower. The Forum Tower is more than adequate for me, recently remodeled, but the view is non-existent unless on the top floors. The main reason why i plan on upgrading to the Palace is because of the Pool. If i was to be at CP in November, i would keep the Forum, which is close to the Casino. I have heard numerous suggestions on You tube, Trip Advisor, and here, that the Forum Tower and above is what to go for. NEVER EVER the Roman Tower.....LOL.
You could try the $20 trick and upgrade to the Augustus and Octavius. I know the Palace rooms as well as the Octavius/Augustus are bigger and have better bathrooms than the Forum, if that interest you. But the Forum rooms are not close to the Pool, which is why i will try to upgrade.......i've heard a lot about the multitude of pools at Caesars, since i'll be there in August, may as well try to take advantage as most of my daytime activities will include the pool.

All towers except Roman would be good; Roman hasn't been updated in a very very long time. Usually when you check in to a comped Forum, they automatically upgrade you to Palace or Augustus. Roman is a downgrade from Forum. I haven't stayed in the new Octavius yet.

Thank you Waverunner for the complete rundown regarding Caesars rooms. Since we are "pool" people, maybe the change to Palace or others that will ease the lengthy commute to the pools. Thanks again for your insights and please let us know how your Caesars trip went this August.
