I'm staying at Caesars in a couple weeks. I have stayed there in the past, but not since the Octavius tower opened. Is it preferred vs. Augustus? What are the pros and cons?

I've stayed in Augustus but not Octavius.

From what I know of the Octavius rooms, these would be the pros and cons vs Augustus from my point of view:

    Pros:
    • A little larger and newer, different furnishings. I don't know if the rooms are really larger; the buildings look identical from the outside.
    • Has a connectivity panel so you can hook things up to the TV, and an iPhone docking station/player.
    • Looks like they have a spa tub; the Augustus room I was in did not.

    Cons:
    • It's another 100 -150 ft or so further away from the casino, so if you tend to be back and forth to your room a lot, that adds up.
    • Much less of a chance of getting a view of the Bellagio fountains than Augustus. I'm not sure any of the Octavius rooms have that view at all.

Both towers can use the separate check in desk at the Flamingo Rd entrance

The octavious Tower had close access to the pool, the buffet, and the older casino by the cashier cage. The Augustus has better access to the Lobby and thus the strip and cabs/valet. It is probably a wash at to what tower is closer to the forum shops.

We have stayed at the Augustus Tower several times. Love the rooms. It's big, and the bathroom is nice with a separate whirlpool tub. It also seems to be a lot quieter than the other towers at Caesar's. Don't know about the Octavius Tower, but there is a back way to the pools and the buffet/restaurant area from the Augustus Tower so you can avoid the crowd and get to the buffet and/or pool quicker. It's also close to the main lobby/check in counter so you can definitely get a quick exit to the strip that way. And there is a Starbucks on the way to the main lobby so you don't have to trek too far. But, the rooms have those single-serve coffee maker (a rarity in Vegas) so you may never have to go to Starbucks if you bring your own coffee pods. (That's what we did) You definitely get a great view of the Bellagio Fountain. I don't think you can get that view from the Octavius Tower.
I think it's awash when it comes to getting to the Forum Shops. Still a hike whichever way you go.
