Hi all, This is my first trip report. I thought I'd share some tips from our December trip. Our first stop was heading to the Backstage Deli at Luxor for their delicious breakfast sandwiches. After that we checked into Caesars for a 3 night stay in an Octavius Tower room. Check in is always great at Caesars and we have never had any problems. We have stayed in Palace Tower, Augusta, and Octavius and prefer the Octavius because it's newer. Others complain of the long walk, but that doesn't bother us. Overall experience at Caesars is positive except their limited reasonably priced dining options and a little smokier casino. Luckily we had BOGO MyVegas rewards to use for the Bellagio buffet and Aria buffet, both which were good (Bellagio 4 stars, Aria 3 1/2 stars). Gambling went pretty good at Caesars considering their crappy video poker pay tables, and we managed to hit quite a few four of a kinds to keep us going and we even managed a winning day. After Caesars, we headed to the Signature, which would be our home for the next 6 nights. This has become our favorite place to stay and we will definitely be going back again. Wonderful facility with nice rooms (kitchenette handy, whirlpool tub, balcony, 2 bathrooms, 2 nice flatscreen T.V.'s, and a nice living area). We got a room in the first tower on the corner and almost the top floor, which turned out to have a fabulous view of MGM and City Center. The Signature also has a nice fitness center, Starbucks, and a free Laundromat. It is a walk to get to the MGM and the strip, but we actually enjoyed that every day. The Signature is also very quiet. The one disadvantage to the Signature is that since there isn't a casino attached, you don't get any comped rooms. However, M Life does give pretty good deals and you also get tier credits for the $ you spend on the room. Since they don't have a casino, we spent most of our gambling at MGM, which turned out to be a good plan. Out of 5 days of gambling here, we ended up having 2 winning days, a break even day, and 2 loosing days. One of the days we decided to get the car out and go to Red Rock. Their buffet is average (3 stars) and very crowded. We couldn't hit anything here as usual, so left after lunch and headed back to MGM, where we ended up making up for the $ we lost at Red Rock. We both like everything about Red Rock, except the gambling. They have the fantastic pay tables, but for some reason it never works out for us. While at the Signature, we tried the MGM buffet through a MyVegas and it was average (3 stars). We also went to Chin Chin over at New York New York, which was a great buffet. Food and prices very good. The Tamba Indian lunch buffet at the Hawaiian Marketplace was also very good. We ended up going back to both places during our trip. The Encore was our next destination. Somehow I managed to score two free nights, even though we haven't gambled there in a while. When we checked in they offered us an upgrade to the Resort Tower for $65.00 a night and we took it. Very nice room on a high floor. Everything outstanding about the room except the tub. I guess I got spoiled to the whirlpool tubs at Caesars and Signature. I would have to say the views aren't as nice at the Encore either. As for gambling, we didn't fair that good. We had two loosing days there. They did have tournaments going on and I managed to get in two different tournaments, which was fun. On our last day there, we decided to try the new improved buffet. With Holiday prices, it ended up costing us $90.00 for two brunches. The food was good, but not really worth the extra price and we really didn't see that much improvement from the old buffet. We headed to Paris after Encore to spend 3 nights. It was getting very crowded by now so we gambled some in morning, went to Dragon Noodle at Monte Carlo for lunch (good but pricey) and then checked into our Red P Room. Not quite as nice as the previous rooms, but very adequate. We like these rooms because they are on the corner and are a little bigger with a frig and coffee maker. Again the bathroom is a little disappointing with only one sink and a tiny tub. The rooms are kind of showing a little wear, but it was nice and clean and quiet. Again, we had three loosing gambling sessions at Paris. Their casino is also a little smokey for us. We had made reservations at Hexx and was not disappointed. We shared a Turkey Club and Hamburger, that were both delish. Our last stop of our trip was three nights at one of our favorite places, the Cosmopolitan. Like everything about the Cosmo and they have one of the best rooms on the strip. We got a balcony room with a great view of the City Center. Lunch was at China Poblano in the Cosmo. Very small portions, tasty, but a little expensive for what you get. Probably won't go back. For dinner we hit the Secret Pizza in Cosmo. Good! Gambling actually turned out fantastic at Cosmo this trip. We both hit a Royal 5 minutes apart, making it a big winning day for us. The next two days weren't as kind, but the two Royals made up for it. All in all a really good trip.
