Caesars room charges May 28 & 29 ???

We have a Forum Tower room the last week of May comped at Caesars. We invited some friends in California to come to Vegas and vacation with us this year. They called today & said they would have to get a reservation at another hotel for Wednesday & Thursday, the 28th & 29th of May because the rates for the least expensive rooms (Roman Tower) were $700 & $800 respectively! They can stay at a hotel close by but it would be nice to have them in the same property.

Just curious, anyone aware of something special going on at Caesars the end of May? Thanks!

 

Apparently there's a jewellery convention at MB that's driving up the prices on the strip.

I also know that the CET properties are running a promo only available on 2 dates that month that have a larger than usual free play amount that they must be expecting the crowds for as pick-up times are pre-set and not in the casino cage areas to glut them up. That weekend is one of them.

 

I was going to say the same thing about the jewelry convention. They expect 35,000 for that show. We have friends that do the show and a couple years ago OneRepublic played out on the beach for them (we got to go, it was AWESOME!) But we ran into a similar situation this year, didn't realize it was the same weekend, though we at least got a GO room comped at Flamingo when I booked way back in December. I have seen high rates for that weekend, too.
Jerry Seinfield is their entertainment one night and Rob Thomas from Matchbox 20 is another night this year for the show.

 

I can find out in a day or two for definite. My gf works in operations there, she says maybe black hat is there by then but she'll double check when she goes back to work after I leave on thurs.

 

I have no idea if this is accurate, but I was on the phone with Bally's today and the rep said something about rates going up for the middle/end of that week due to the WSOP kicking off?

 

My gf says it's Memorial Day? They are rammed. Check in as early as possible to get a good room.
