Called Caesars this morning to modify a reservation I had previously made for next Aug which included comped nights and $125 in free play.
I wanted to use a better offer with $250 resort credit and $250 in free play.
To my surprise a very helpful lady suggested I modify the original reservation to 2 nights and add(link) a second reservation for 3 nights which would give me $625 in total credits.
Considering I thought that we could not combine back to back comps, this made my day.

Good for you. Get a confirmation number to protect yourself. Sometimes they contradict each other.

I thought the same thing. If someone has stayed on back to back offers like this, please let us know.

I have recently read this on another chat board as well. They said they called and Harrahs combined offers. I wish I had some recent history with harrahs

This is interesting. These $250/250 FP/resort credit offers are new to their system and they seem to be struggling with how they work--as I struggle to understand what is offered on the website. I've used one already and it still shows in "my offers" which is unusual. It may be a case where they will let you use this type of offer once a month or something.

If they let you book it, you very well may get away with it, but I would be prepared for them to tell you that you can't use the second round of FP/resort credit. After all, how far can we carry this? Book a separate offer each night for a 5 night stay? Clearly that would be disallowed, which is why the general policy of "one offer per trip" is in place. You can, of course, stay one night at CP, move to an MGM prop, and then return 48 hours later for a new "trip" and new free play etc.

I almost wonder if they are migrating the monthly "free play" offers to 1/2free play and 1/2 resort credit to make sure you actually stay there--I have checked into CP during a stay at Bellagio in order to redeem substantial free play (sometimes $1000) and never actually stayed there. Super easy to just walk across the bridge, check in without bags, redeem FP vouchers, and play a little. Of course you have to give them some "real" play as well in order to not kill your ADT, but you don't even have to move your bags.

I doubt I am the only person to have done this, and the reason they require a hotel stay to redeem free play is that their computers have told them people who actually stay in the hotel play far more than those who pop in for the day. So, understandably, their goal is to get you to actually stay in the hotel, not just check in to the hotel :) With the new system, I will be motivated to do that.

I noticed CET is changing up their comps to be more like Mlife. My traditional free play offers are now a mix of free play and promotion. Example I used to see $300 FP offers. Now I am seeing offers like 3 nights, $200 FP and $100 SWA gift card. I have a couple of marketing mailers like that along with the crap corporate offers of Stay with us and receive....blah blah blah.

Although I have to say either some of my low play has dropped or CET is desperate to fill rooms since all my Q1 2014 offers have spiked enough for me to consider multiple trips this spring. The comps are too good for LV to not take advantage of. As long as airfare prices stay under $300 RT for 21 day advance booking I plan to milk the comps.

I agree. $1000 to walk in the door? With airline tix under $200 roundtrip and 3 hrs 15 minutes door to door travel time, I'm there, every month. The only question is whether I actually stay at CP or stay elsewhere and just "check in" to CP.

CET is desperate to fill rooms

This one I wonder about. Certainly, I think they are selling very few rooms at any meaningful rate level at any of their properties, and their strategy relies on comped rooms to get people into their subpar hotels. It works on various levels, and they get people in. Then they face the generally player unfriendly games that the comps and free play are based on. If you are able to play the better games, though, and stay at a new tower in CP...it can be a great deal.

CET increased its comps substantially over the past year. It was historically at around 20% of casino revenue from 2010-2012 but in 2013 it was over 30%, at least for the first 9 months for which there is data.

Very interesting--I wonder which player segment saw most benefit from this?

Funny, If I look at LV markets my Q1 2013 were strong. Q2 and Q 3 for markets outside of Vegas were outstanding, so I shifted play. Q4 2013 LV offers picked up. Again in Q12014. Lots of strong comps. Now this could be cyclical since I usually hit half my tier score in Q1 / Q2. 2013 I low played after hitting diamond, finishing at 30,000 TR credits including a couple of 1000 tr credit bonus days.

This year I only play CET if I have a strong offer and the days I do play I try to hit the 1000 TR credits earned. So I expect to play less days but more hours at $1 VP or slots.
