There have been some discussions about the difference between the two towers. For those that like to obsess about such things, I created a page that tries to point out the differences. My summary:
"Differences between rooms in the two towers are pretty small - with the exception of location. If you don't want to deal with the extra walk, and don't care about the pool, choose Augustus. Otherwise, let the little things decide."

For the excruciating details (and a bunch of photos), see http://home.comcast.net/~lgott3141/Travel_LV_TripReport_2012_September-CaesarsPalace-OctaviusTower.html

Thanks for that. I'll be there in however many hours it shows below. I've got an Octavius Tower room booked but still planning to ask for Augustus for the views and closeness to the strip.

    Aug vs. Oct

Std room sizes are simiiar, so are the appointments (except as noted below).

    The Octavius bathrooms are upgraded.
    - two sinks
    - the jacuzzi tub is deeper Ii didn't measure, but it seemed so).

    Most important:
    - the Augustus TVs are smaller screen and lower volumed
    - I found the Augustue TV's difficult to view while lying in bed.
    - No problem with the Octavius TVs.

    View:
Although, Agustus' Southern rooms have a better Bellagio fountain view, most (if not all) of the Northern room's views are obstructed by an adjacent structure (I think these are the Forum Rooms) and can not see CPs multiple pools.I do not enjoy the walk from Octavius, but I prefer Octavius over Augustus.

Just stayed there last month and completely agree with everything you posted. I now prefer the Octavius rooms to the Palazzo rooms. Never thought I'd find one I liked better...

Thanks so much for posting your information!
