I was wondering which would give me a better chance at an upgrade. I am heading to Vegas this Saturday for a 6 night stay in a CP Forum Tower Deluxe King room. I am paying for the first night but the rest are comped. I made Diamond status (barely) earlier this year and have never used a separate check-in for an elevated tier level.

So, which would give me a better chance at an upgrade? Should I go to the standard check-in line and slip a $20 to the person who checks me in? Should I go to the diamond check-in, where I assume I would be dealing with a host? Should I tell them how it's my 30th birthday and hope they toss me a nice upgrade? Thanks for any and all responses.

Diamond check in would have a greater chance of upgrade for sure. You can tip if you want, I don't and still get upgraded to at least Palace Tower. Also, they have a check-in counter just like the standard desk, not a host. Unless you'd rather talk to a host, in which case you could walk over to their desks.

Have you checked your reservation online lately? You may already have your upgrade listed. You have to go to "view reservation" then it will be listed to the left under the pic of your room. I did checked when I stayed at Paris last year and was upgraded to a resort room from a basic luxury.

Thanks for the reply. I looked at my reservation. Under the picture, there is a blank space next to "Room type:". Hopefully, I'll get upgraded when I arrive.

You should use Diamond check in anyway. They have stuff like coffee and dounts in the AM, or cookies and candy later on. They also have water with lemons or other fruit and will give you all the bottled water you want. It's almost as useful as the Diamond lounge even though there is no alcohol. If you have the right to use it, do!

If it's blank that's a good sign. Hopefully working on the upgrading. Good luck! Hope you get a good upgrade.

I will be checking in at Caesars using the Diamond Check-in area on a friday in January. I have a comp Augustus Tower Room reserved. Do you think I will have a good chance at a high floor looking at the Fountains.

Any ideas what I should ask for? I actually turned down a comped Octavius room for the Augustus Tower since I didnt want the extra walk from the Strip.

No mayo I would echo the others who say use the diamond check in. Last two times I've been offered a cocktail. Also I would simply say you've heard wonderful things about the Octavius rooms that it motivated you to reach Diamond and by any chance can they make that your birthday present? You will both laugh but they only give that tower to diamond I believe, and it is very nice. Even if they can't they will probably give you Augustus which is supposed to be very nice as well. And if you have a car don't forget about the valet for oct. and aug. towers. Cabs there also and very prompt service. Congrats on diamond!!

I have been Diamond for three years and at the Diamond Check In the upgrade to Augustus or recently Octavius has been automatic. I have booked one of those grungy standard rooms we would never stay in and every time I have been given one of the above with and without asking. I'm sure you will to.

Just to add my experience, I was booked in a Palace Tower for a Friday-Sunday trip and checked in at the Diamond check-in. They automatically upgraded me to the Augustus Tower.

FYI, I am only gold and booked a Forum tower room comped for four nights. I did the $20 sandwich at normal check in and I am now writing this from my 42nd floor (I know, not actually 42 floors) Agustus tower Luxury room with a giant window and awesome view of the fountains, Paris, strip, etc. I think I just got lucky though.

Forgot to add, I checked in at about 5:45pm on Sunday.
