Anybody buy their meds from Canada? I am looking into this as some new meds my Dr wants me to try run $400 per 30 day supply. In Canada they run about $150 per 30 day supply. My concern is that this pharmacy indicates that their meds can come from many different places including India and Turkey- which gives me pause. So, any experiences with using a Canadian online pharmacy?

    Will give them a try!

My mother purchased from canada quite a bit, it's easy, the drugs are real and if you can save money, why not? Some of the places will require a prescription and some will only make you state that you have a prescription.

I know there's an outfit out of some pacific island that sells Indian drugs even cheaper, that's a tad more risky.

Many generic drugs sold in the USA are made in India in FDA approved plants. I think you need to research the specific drug your physician prescribed and find out where the Canadian pharmacy is sourcing it.

Co-worker buys a product for migraine headaches --
You can buy it off the shelf in Canada -
    USA would need an RX.
Codeine or something is in it ?

Your local pharmacy sells generics made in India. FDA carries out inspections of foreign plants. They had some issues with Dr. Reddy as outlined in this warning letter from a couple months ago. http://www.fda.gov/iceci/enforcementactions/warningletters/2015/ucm473604.htm Health Canada (the Canadian equivalent of FDA) has issued quarantines to some Dr. Reddy health products due to quality issues.

Not that American companies don't get hit with warning letters, either.

Anyone have any tips for where to look? My cat is diabetic and get insulin (Lantus) and it is quite pricey though we only need it every 6 months but if I could save a hundred bucks it may be worth looking into.

Doh... well at least it is for my cat and not for me... I could not imagine a diabetic having to pay the cash price.

    Thanks.

Yeah, most of the time you get your meds in those opaque bottles the pharmacy provides. So, no label of origin on those!

I've ordered some stuff from Mexico, haven't had any issues yet.I order my contatcs from Canada from a place that does not require a prescription. I think you can get Lantus from Mexican pharmacies online.

A lot of active ingredients, especially antibiotics, come from China.

I actually went through a Canadian med pharm when I was waiting for ins on a new job to kick in. The cost was pretty good, I got it for a few months and it seem to work like the name brand I had used. That being said, I've read numerous articles and watched a news show that said you shouldn't. They cited instances of lower ingredient levels than stated and in some cases none at all. With some meds such as heart scripts, it could mean life and death. It's a tough situation to have to look that direction, but I would do all the investigating I could first.

    Good Luck!

Definitely not. Especially if you're getting generics, the largest manufacturer is an Israeli company (Teva) with plants all over the world, including India, South America, China, and all over Europe.

My husband has been a diabetic since the new year. Even with insurance, he pays at least $12/day for insulin and supplies. $230 for insulin that lasts no more than 28 days and his test strips are more than a dollar a piece. We're researching Canadian pharmacies too.

It's cheaper to buy a different brand and pay out of pocket. I buy these as I have to test 6-9 times per day. Last ones I bought came out to less than 10 cents per test strip.
Amazon had the test strips and the meters too.
