Sorry if this seems like a lame question, but how does the bus driver know when to stop at the location you want to go? If you take the 202 Flamingo bus do you tell the driver, ring a bell, or does the driver automatically stop at every bus stop?

    You ring the bell.

Also, Don't forget to make your exit through the correct door.

You can always ring the bell to stop at the nearest stop. But if the driver sees people waiting at any stop, he/she will automatically stop to pick them up... at which point riders may also exit via the rear doors.

I've rode the RTC 202 a few times, to get to Sam's Town from places like The Gold Coast or Ballys. But believe me, it's very slow (45 minutes!), because it stops at a LOT of places. You didn't mention where you plan on going, but you may wish to see if there is a non-RTC bus that will take you there. For example, from downtown, there is a FREE shuttle bus that goes from The California to Sam's Town (about 20 minutes). There is also a free shuttle bus that goes from Sam's Town to Caesars (Forum Shops). But if you have no interest in these places, disregard this paragraph.

    As always, good luck.

Thank you for your replies. Yes @raisingoo I am planning to take the 202 bus from Gold Coast to Sam's Town. I considered the free shuttle, but didn't want any hassles with my carry-on luggage. Which bus stop is closest to Sam's Town?

From the Gold Coast get the bus across the street on the way to the Palms.

As the 202 turns from Flamingo onto Boulder, the very next stop is the one you want. Generally, you don't need to be too concerned about missing it because there are other people exiting there.

You walk back a bit and cross the street at the light to Sam's Town. If you don't want a long wait, you have to really run once the light is in your favor. Otherwise you will be stuck only crossing half the street and waiting through all the light changes to cross the other half. You can see the countdown as you cross so you can pace yourself.
