Waiting for the reviews. Could be funny - or not.

We need Gregrio back. Miss his reviews and commentary.

I wonder how much mileage Ballys will get out of this promotion?

I was in Vegas last January when they were filming this in and outside of Ballys. They had a good chunk of the casino moved around, built a gift shop for the fictional show in the middle of the casino, and had a lot of BW signage all over replacing the normall stuff.

Damn! I would have liked to see that. I was out in Vegas during the fall when they were sneaking around town for Hangover 3 filming, and saw some of the film crew in CP and over on Industrial Blvd. Did not see Stu or Phil though.

I wonder how many people are going to flock to the Bally's website in an attempt to actually buy tickets for this new "show" and claim their "free breakfast buffet"!!!

This is strange. The show is not listed on Ballys website. And Ballys doesn't have a buffet. Except for the Sterling Brunch which is around $90.00 a person. I could go for a couple of those and free tickets to the show.

    I did e-mail Ballys and they stated ;
"Thank you for contacting Bally's Las Vegas!

We appreciate your interest in our entertainment offerings. There has not been an official release for Mr. Wonderstone being at Bally's at this time. I would suggest keeping an eye on our website for updates as they become available. I trust this was of help."
Too bad as I will be there in a couple of weeks. If you hear of anything else, let us know. Thanks

You're messing with us, right? It's a fictitious show advertisment for the new movie. It's all a publicity gag. You didn't really write to Bally's, did you? :peace:

What would have been great is if they released the movie on April 1, 2013.
I am dying to see if Ballys has the show posted on their website, starting March 15th.

Sounds like the lead time for a production like this would be a year or more. Remodeling the casino and changing signage? It must take a lot of negotiating. Especially in this new age, not like it was back in the day with "Honeymoon In Vegas". Where James Caan the millionaire kicks the president of Brazil out of the Presidential Suite of Bally's.

I thought that CET properties were in a financial bind. There has to be a lot of effort and expense to do this. Could they get that much advertisement from this?

Im sure the studio covered the filming costs and any set requirements. CET probally did not charge the film crew access and had a work out with LV office issuing the film permit.

This is huge free publicity for the Casino. Better than a product placement deal.

Based on this posting, I thought it was for real. When we saw a commercial for the movie, I told my wife about the new show, and thought we should check it out.

    Got me!

Just got home from seeing it. I was going to play along with the whole fake show at Bally's and post a review in the show section but decided against it as I don't know if my humour would have gone over too well.

Movie is okay at best, not nearly as funny as I was expecting. The only thing that is worth seeing besides the various shots of Vegas and of course the very easy of the eyes Olivia Wilde is Jim Carrey who basically steals all his scenes with this Angel/Blaine character.

I agree that it wasn't entirely funny (kind of awkward, actually), but we still found plenty of chuckles. Plus, what they do to the Lady Luck is alone worth the price of admission. I was shocked and didn't see that coming!!!! :confused2:
