I already got a reply back saying I was underqualified. I can make some mean chicken wings though.

I will add that to the checklist of things to do after they open. The V/P people will probably get annoyed after they see their machines slathered in hot sauce.

Anchor Bar is where it all started according to the wing legend. My thoughts on the original location are about the same as the average on Google reviews--a good 3.5 of 5 compared to all the wings I ate during the 20 years I was married to a lady from the Buffalo area. I ate a lot of wings; the Anchor Bar was never a go-back place on my list although I did eat there more than once.

They did sell them pre-packaged at the Buffalo airport at that time.

We'll see how they land in Buffalo!

Nice. Buffalo wings are definitely underrepresented on the strip.

I thought you made a spelling error in the title, and when I opened the thread, I would see BUFFALOOOOO WINS with pics of winning screen shots - hahaha!

I can picture Plee sitting at a CLEO 2 in high limit, covered in wing sauce from head to toe, dipping into the bucket of wings screaming "WHY...WHY...WHY can't I WIN ...":

Then a voice off in the distance (think Tom Hanks in Castaway) echo's: "Cause you are not playing BUFFALLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOooooooooo".......

LMFAO, I have a sick sense of humor~

I've lived in Buffalo for 58 years. There are plenty wings in Buffalo (i.e. Duffs, La Novas...etc) that are as good, if not better, than the Anchor bar wings!! But the Anchor bar wings are considerably better than the stuff I've eaten in Vegas called "Buffalo Wings". Trustme..... If you like wings, and all you have ever eaten are wings in Vegas, then you'll love the Anchor bars wings!!

I tried this Buffalo slot last trip, I was not impressed. I'll stick with the Buffalo wings.

I agree, Anchor bar wings are over rated. Much prefer Duff's, or a half dozen other local places.
As for wings available anywhere else in the country, I say if you have you call them Buffalo wings, than they are NOT Buffalo wings.
And what the hell is up with serving them with ranch dressing as opposed to bleu cheese?

Does this means all cards and chips are going to have wing sauce fingerprints from now on?

I was in Buffalo last week. Although Anchor Bar maybe slightly overrated, its the best your gonna get in Vegas.

Akin to "You will never get a real cheese steak outside of the Philly area." You will never get Buffalo Wings outside of Buffalo.

    End of discussion.

Note: This does not apply to Long Island Ice Tea.

What makes Buffalo Wing places in Buffalo so much better? Do they get better wholesale chicken wings then other places?? Is it the sauce?? I just don't see how a city can be so better at making a food item, which is based off a commodity.

Yup. I 3rd this. Anchor Bar is for tourists. For me, nothing tops the Pub in Depew, but Duff's is a damn close second.

I also agree that Anchor Bar will still be light years better than most places on the strip if they replicate what you get at the home location.

As far as what sets them apart from what you get in other cities, I've often wondered that myself, and think it's mainly 2 things: The style of sauce being used and the fact that here they are a source of pride, with every establishment not only having them on the menu, but constantly trying to one-up each other. My thought is that in other markets/cities, with some exceptions, wings are generally an afterthought on the menu.
