When are you planning to open the doors of Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas? Phil Lesh has announced an April 20 show, and I’ve seen early-March George Porter Jr. dates floating around. We’ll be open in March. We’ll be announcing all that stuff soon, details on shows, but we’re definitely planning on being a venue that will have some major shows. We’ve got, like, a 2,000-capacity venue for live music, and then we’re gonna be focusing on live music late-night. Right now, on the Strip, Downtown, off-Strip, there’s not a lot of places to go see live music after midnight. There’s a lot of DJ stuff, a lot of clubs and fun times, but we think there’s a pretty big group of people that would love to see some great live tunes late-night.

hapiro has a lot on his plate. Right on the heels of the London expansion, he’s about to announce the Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas club that’s scheduled to open in March. This will be a stand-alone building on a new part of The Strip called the LINQ.
“That’s 78,000 square feet, a 2,000 capacity, also Blue Ribbon in a building underneath the High Roller, which will be the biggest Ferris wheel in the world,” Shapiro says, excitedly. “It’s on a walking street, like Bourbon St. meets the Grove in L.A. We’re the main thing. We’re going to be open day and night. We’re going to be doing some big shows and residencies.” Veteran promoter Don Strasburg will book the acts with Shapiro.

The original one out here is an absolutely phenomenal venue, and their booking is great. I'm somewhat hoping that they program it sort of like the Cosmopolitan does with their pool shows; Cosmo had some great bands like Fitz & The Tantrums and The Naked & Famous this spring, which are reasonably mainstream for people in their 20s-30s, not popular enough to sell out an arena, and not so obscure that they can't fill a decent-sized space.
