Anyone know where to find some good break burritos or tacos off the strip? Will have a rental and will be doing off-strip casino hopping during the mornings/afternoons. Thanks for help!

I live very close to the border in southern california and some what of an expert on the subject of burritos.

There is one thing to look for if you want a good one.

The place sure not be a chain and it should look so dumpy that you are scared to eat there.

i am not kidding here either. If there is a clean sparkling restroom then just move along. also if the serve chips with the "meal" then its not the right place.

the best places will have words spelled wrong on the hand painted menu and will have a walk up window. There should be an old coffee can tip jar there too.

When ordering, dont get fancy, just order whats on the menu. This is because if you start adding or taking away items then you are just talking to hear yourself talk because you will get it the way they want you to have it anyway.

Also dont ask a bunch of questions unless you want to get an eye roll.

Now here is what to order:

    - carne asada burrito (car nay), marinated steak chunks, delicious.

    - breakfast burrito

    - california burrito , carne asada burrito with fries in it.

    - carne asada fries. huge potion of fries with carne asada meat, guacamole, cheese.

If you want to get fancy get this:

    - adobada tacos. marinated pork that is out of this world. the tacos will be the tiny street tacos.

    - menudo. great hangover soup, huge portions with every part of the cow in it.

These things will not be as good as you think they should be:

    - beef or chicken tacos or burritos. shredded type chicken or beef that just doesnt have as much flavor as the carne asada does.

    - seafood should only be ordered at a mexican place that specializes in seafood so pass on it. you can get the fish tacos though, they are always good.
