Fogo is Yummy! We call it Meat-Topia!

Fogo de Chão Las Vegas is Delicious

    From LV Blvd:
Turn at Bally's on Flamingo, away from the Interstate,
it's at 360 East Flamingo Road.

Huge salad bar, & the gaucho chefs keep bringing the yummy meat carved tableside, off of Huge Skewers!

    Table Icon Food code:

Green side up=Load me up :licklips:

Red side up=I'm fine, but check back later.

I love the Texas de Brazil here at home. I have also had the lunch at Pampas with the groupon and it's OK. I added the seafood option and wished I had not

At TdB, I make one trip to the salad bar and then when the meat comes, I send the chicken away and hold out for my favorite cuts. I usually ask the guy with the leg of lamb to pull up a chair. The lunch prices are better, but they don't have some of the best meat, like leg of lamb at lunchtime either.

I'm afraid I will have to go to all three then; Texas de Brazil, Fogo de Chao and Pampas Brazilian Grille. Not really a punishment, as I can do one in each week I'm there. :D

I have are at Pampas two times and loved it. I'm excited to hear there is a groupon for lunch. I will have to check it out.

My only thing to compare it to was a Texas da Brazil in Chicago. I found them to be about of equal quality. Both very good

    Agreed.

I just ate at the one in Baltimore, MD this past Saturday. If they bring out too bloody a steak and you want it cooked more, they come back pretty quickly.

We have 4 churrascarias close by here.

Fogo De Chao (Baltimore and DC)
    Chima (Tyson's Corner, VA)
Texas De Brazil (Fair Oaks Mall, VA)

We used to have another in Rockville, MD called Greenfields. I loved that place. It was less "luxurious" than the others but I loved the food and price (like $27).
The other one that is not around that I almost didn't include is Malibu Grill (2 were in VA). They were only good for a low key lunch, imo.

I may try Samba at the Mirage. I didn't know about that.

Pampas is easily worth it with the Groupon. I mean it's $22pp. That's nothing.

Me and the missus' outing at Fogo a couple days ago was $175 with 4 drinks (which was about $40) and 18% gratuity. The food alone is about $50.

Better food definitely but it's more than double.

I had so much filet mignon that it was ridiculous.

    churrascarias > upscale steakhouses

It's not just that you get high quantity. The quality is top-notch. Add to that, lamb chops, leg of lamb, sausage, chicken, etc.

Unfortunately, there is no Chima in Vegas.

Fogo, imo, is a fine dining experience. I'd rate TDB under it but worth going to.
Fogo is on Flamingo past Koval so not far off the strip at all.

I'd start with Pampas tho' since it's right inside Miracle Mile and ultra-cheap. I've been there twice. Once we got lobster and shrimp (Valentine's Day special). The other time is was a Groupon.

Yea, I agree, the groupon deal makes Pampas a really good option. You almost can't go wrong for that price.

The more upscale (and more expensive) ones, like Fogo de Chao and Texas de Brazil, are probably better for a special occasion.

    Tnx!

    Hi Lady F

this sounds like the sort of restaurant I would need to hit before the pub crawl you are organising on the 17th (assuming I am there by the 17th !).

Lots of good food to sustain me through a long session with the night owls who sleep all day:beer:

Hi! I'm glad to hear you will maybe join the pub crawl, you seem like a fun person to be around!

I totally agree, such a meal would be a great ground layer (not sure if expressed well, but I think you'll get what I mean) to start the party with. Only, the crawl takes off at 7pm, so I'm not sure if there is time for dinner beforehand. I'm actually sure there's not lol. But maybe a late lunch? We (sweetcanadian and I) are planning to meet-up somewhere on the Strip for drinks and to get to know each other, before heading Downtown together for the crawl. Maybe we could do that in combination with a lunch at Pampas? I love the idea!

I will start a seperate thread for the pub crawl in the "Vegas Get Togethers" forum in the near future, then we will be able to plan it further.

Hope you will be able to join!

I actually have to wake-up early, if I want to make it for lunch. :D
But no biggie, you only live ones (or yolo, as my nephews say in almost every sentence since recently) and it is Vegas baby!

Good tip! Unfortunately I will miss out on this though, cause I'll arrive in Vegas one day after my birthday.

BTW: What is BOGO? I see this a lot on VMB, especially in the MyVegas forum, but no idea what it means. :confused2:

Ive tried Sambas in the early 2000s got me really sick. Lost one night because I had to spend all night in my room. I think it was not the meat may have been the Sausage I don't know but the meat was not to good either. I think the sausage may have been chriso. They brought everything but meat for like 3 rounds. Never went again to a Brazilian steakhouse. I know there are a lot better but now I don't eat read meat as much as I used too.

Yup, I either hit Pampas or a buffet before my last crawl in Vegas.

    It's perfect.

Hit the Sin City Crawl. It's the only one that has a double decker party bus. It was top-notch.

I paid $75 for 2 people. Free drinks on the bus. It actually starts late enough to have dinner first.
