I will be staying at the Cal. Am I allowed to charge items at the MSS or Fremont restaurants to my room? Or is it only allowed for the Cal restaurants.

Also I read that you get a 40% (?) discount if you pay with points. Is the discount valid only if you pay right then and there. Or can you pay with any accumulated points AND get the discount at the end of the trip?

I currently only have 810 pts - not sure how much this equates to, but I assume pretty much zero. I will be concentrating my playing at the 3 Boyd properties and should have a lot more by the end of the trip.

As a side note, I've always been told to charge things to the room and then have a host or whoever review at the end of trip to see if they can take anything off. Is this how I should do this for this trip?

I know about 18 months ago I had some charges to the room that were not covered and asked to use my points at check-out. The lady very nicely said it would be 1000 to 1 $ and not the 600. She said the 600 (at least at that time) conversion had to be done at the time of the meal, purchase, whatever.

That was over a year ago. Just ask at check-in (and note the nametag of the person giving you the information) for clarification. It is a good way to use accummulated points...

If your 810 points is your "Tier Score" ... that is what would be used for mail offers, or for a host to determinine how much coin-in you have played.

If your 810 points is your "Bonus Point Score", those are the points that build up, for using to pay for a meal, like at the buffet. 600 bonus points = $1 for food at time of purchase.
