So I do not have any offers for my trip to the Fremont this Summer. I booked with the Don't Get Stripped Offer. Few Questions.

    1. I think play at MSS/Cal/Fremont all count as one property for comps, is this correct?
    2. Does Boyd require you use your points before a host will give you anything on the back end? If so no biggie just curious.
    3. How is Fremont on back end comps? Decent? Or no?

Anything else anyone could add that'd be awesome.

1.) Yes, all count as "one" property, although you'll only get mailers from where you select as your "home" property.
    2. & 3.) Getting "backend discretionary" comps from downtown Boyd is about as hard as pulling teeth. Your best bet is to play per day, then go up to the Club Desk and ASK for a comp (day by day, rather than backend)

    1) yes
    2) Based on my experience at MSS, you can only use points at the time of purchase (pay the bill at restaurant with points). You can't use points at the end to clear room charges like you can with MLife's express comps. I've had luck getting all my room charges cleared by the host on duty. It usually takes a while since at MSS because they never seem to have a host on duty at check out time for some reason so if you can do it the night before, that would be better. It never hurts to ask though. The worst they can say is no.
    3) Don't know since I've only stayed at MSS.

That is good to know about the points. So I will not hesitate to use them at the restaurants instead of saving them for checkout. Thanks for the information.

For our last trip, our host at The Cal made our room reservation for 7 nights. At check-in the clerk said 6 nights were covered and we were responsible for the last night. Our host was on vacation the week we were there, so on the night before we checked out I talked to another host who comped night #7 for us.

On the BConnected site at the top, click "ACCOUNT" then "MY INTERESTS". At the bottom of "MY FAVORITE CASINOS" is a pulldown menu where you can select your default property. At least that's what I did about a year ago. Previous to that I always had Fremont selected. It took about a year, but I'm now finally getting offers from MSS.

Be advised, however, that some folks say that changing your home base on-line doesn't work and that you're better off doing it in person at the casino.

Yes, you can get back-end comps. I would cash my points for cashback first, just in case. :)

Go see a host and make sure they look at your play at all 3 casinos, assuming you played in all of them.

Here's a general tip - if you charge a meal to your room, never put the tip on the room charge. Pay the tip in cash. Some/most places can't comp tips so it makes it a lot easier for the host not to screw around with the math.

To change home casinos, go see the slot club boothling and have them do it.

You do get better value on points for meals at boyd correct?

That is good to know. I already had to pay the first night upfront so I'd just be looking for the second more expensive night if possible.

Yes, a 40% discount at Boyd-owned restaurants when you pay with points. This means you'll get the discount at 777 brew pub in MSS, but not Tony Roma's in Fremont, for example.

I think Tony Roma's is the only main restaurant not owned by Boyd. Presume you can't use points at the food court outlets at Fremont.

If you are playing a decent amount of coin in per day - say $5K or more a day - you are better off seeing a host and getting your meals comped off if you can. Save your points for cash back. For $10K a day you can get your room and a gold card covering all meals. (RFB).

Turtleman : Thanks for the input.

Flusher : Why did you say change the property only at the slot/player's club? Seems like you know the online switch doesn't mean anything or won't work? Just wondering, thanks.

But that's not instant...that takes 3 trips, in one year, of 3 days each ($30k coin-in total; $90k total in 3 trips, in one year)
Even if he showed up, played $10k per day, I'd say he'd have a hard time getting more than a pair of buffets per day "discretionary"

Correct. You can not pay with points at Dunkin Donuts @ Fremont.

One more question for the OP - what is your daily coin-in like?

If you are hitting $5K a day you should have no problem getting the room comped off.
