I don't want to offend any *serious* bourbon drinkers with this question:evillaugh

I am looking for your favorite bourbon punch recipe! Having a party next weekend (actually, house party, college roommates coming to visit) and my theme for the day on Saturday is "Southern BBQ" and I'll be smoking meat & vegetables etc, so in addition to the copious amounts of wine I'm sure we'll drink, I'd like to have a "signature" drink. I'm more likely to make a pitcher or two instead of a giant punch bowl (there aren't THAT many of us and we're mostly not quite that lushy:Þ). I've done a ton of different sangrias in the past and while I love them, I wanted to do something different this time, especially as I've started to drink more bourbon and rye recently (after making fun of all my housemates for drinking it in college - including the one from Louisville:eek:)
    Thanks!

Skip the bourbon and try Pusser's Rum Painkiller Punch. Great for a crowd, better if no one's driving.

Sorry, I don't have a bourbon punch recipe, but I was in Boston recently and made a one man pub crawl. I ended up at a bar and a couple of hipsters came in and ordered Old Fashioned's. My late Mother In Law would have been pleased.

Ummmm, Painkiller's are excluded from this, but the recipe can be modified for one's tastes.

What? That can pack a pretty good punch when liberally administered. ;)

OK, I was just hanging out down south with a bunch of degenerate golfers/writers. I'll check 'cause someone in that scurvy group probably has exactly what you need!

I have several bourbon cocktails I like (Ward Eight is my current favorite and can be topped with seltzer to make a spritzer) so I could go that way if needed.....

    Guess I'll resort to Google:evillaugh

My problem is that I keep finding wine based punches (I guess you could call them sangrias, but....) that look better to me than the bourbon ones. Ah well.....Maybe I'll just have some ingredients on hand and see what people are in the mood for....Thanks!

Here is a simple one I learned while living in North Carolina:
    One cup bourbon
    One cup orange juice
    One cup lemonade
    One cup mountain dew
    One cup strong sweet tea
Mix and serve chilled, add more bourbon to taste :peace:

Update - no one wanted bourbon, so I made several batches of a white wine & berry sangria. And also we had caipirinhas because one of my friends' husband brought a bottle of cachaca with him, as well as his special wooden mortar & pestle from Mozambique. I wish I had a photo. All drinks were very good.

I just saw a recipe for bourbon pickled jalapenos in a magazine. Will definitely be making that - think they could go GREAT with a hunk of smoked meat:thumbsup:
