My brother in law drives a bus and shuttles groups to Atlantic city. He has one going Nov 3rd - Nov 7th and asked why I don't tag along.

I am a platinum card holder so figured I may get something at Harrah's or Bally's so I went on the Total rewards website and looked for rooms for this time. Caesars showed those four nights as comped so I clicked on book them. A box comes up that there are no rooms available for that time. I call the reservations number and the girl says I can have the first two nights comped and have the third night for $100 and the fourth night is sold out.

I asked why it says they are all comped on the website and she says it is out of date. I tried the other two properties and they say the Thursday is sold out but not the Caesars. Any suggestions on this? Does someone have a host who may be able to help a mid tier player. I would be happy with any of the properties and I thought Atlantic city was hurting?

I haven't seen the renovated rooms at Caesars, but stay a few days at Harrahs. It's just as nice, if not nicer than Caesars.

Ballys is probably still a dump.

Weekends in AC have always been popular. Weekdays not so much.

At Platinum, I doubt they help you at all.

It depends which tower at Harrah's. The newest tower at Harrah's is very nice. The older Harbor or Atrium suites not as much.

Nov. 6-7 is the NJ teacher convention. Every year in New Jersey, the public schools close to two days in November and the teacher's union has a convention down in AC. It's a very busy time.

FWIW, I can confirm that Bally's is more of a dump than ever. I stayed there last month in the best tower for the final time.

Friends were at Caesar's at the same time, and they were very happy with their rooms. They were in a luxury tower with ocean views (not sure the name of the tower).

I have always been happy at Harrah's, even with the basic room, but it's been awhile since I stayed there. I also prefer their casino to the other 2.

If you can't get CET to help you, the Trop sometimes has decent deals. Rooms are very basic & a little shabby, but the casino can be fun.

God forbid they hold the teachers convention during summer vacation. :stir: A family member works for a school district in NJ.

Just to end this post. I have two nights comped and a third at $46.00 at Harrahs. I have one night at the Rodeway Inn next door to Resorts which is where the bus group are staying. So all's good. Thanks again.
