I was wondering if you get free access to night clubs in the hotel your staying wouldn't it be wiser to book a room at the hotel for as cheap as possible to skip the line and skip the coverage? (Even though your staying somewhere else)

I'm not sure if you're aloud to walk in and out of the club but it'll also be useful to use the (clean) bathroom in your room.

    Smart or stupid idea?

Staying at a Hotel typically doesnt get you any special treatment at the club. Most of the clubs are independantly owned, and unless you have a host "walk you in" they dont really care where you are staying. Best thing you can do is some sort of VIP access pass or something similair if you are concerned about the lines.

if you book a room at the cosmo, you get free access for yourself +1 guest to marquee every day EXCEPT saturdays (and special events) for entry before 11pm.

im not exactly sure about wynncore clubs, but i think (dont quote me on it though) that you can purchase line passes at the hotel concierge if youre a hotel guest.

and yes, for most every club you can get your hand stamped for re-entry.

smart idea? no. its smarter to get advance tickets at wanttickets.com, youre guaranteed entry (assuming youre dressed appropriately). the lines for adanced tickets are considerably shorter than general admission.

Depends on which hotel and club. At Wynn/encore, so can buy your ticket from the concierge (allowed up to 4 guests per room) in advance and totally skip the line for XS and other clubs in it (but you need to get in before 11 or 12mn). At the Venetian/palazzo, they have a separete line for guest list and hotel guests for TAO, I got free entry there before (but still a line that can get long). In Paris, you can ask the concierge to put you in the guest list for chateau. I like the wynn/encore the best, totally no line and you enter from the back of XS. Special events may vary

just keep in mind that wanttickets and the like doesn't get you past the lines, it just ensure that at some point you with get in (basically it's just presale to an event) you can buy tickets at a number of places, but your best bet is going directly to the clubs website/ casino website as most of them are moving to selling their own tix instead of having to split commission with resellers/ scalpers.
I told a story previously of a friend of mine who came out and spend $200 on tickets to see Avicii at Marquee and when she ( being a cute girl) got to the door they directed her to the huge general admission line and said she'd get in, but have to wait.
Just a heads up, all that glistens is not gold, if your going to buy tickets read the fine print to know EXACTLY what your buying, i have seen waaaaay too many people buy things from the internet thinking that the broad based boiler plate used to describe the offer was set in stone without researching it beyond the headline they read.
I personally have had people buy things from us that I swear didn't read anything past the words "free____" and implied everything else. Like that their package included free transportation, free drinks all night, free VIP entry, Free cover, etc.. which seems a little crazy when you take into account that they were spending $20 with us. Obviously, they never read exactly what it was that they were buying ( which is still a good deal in the long run).
We even had a group of about 25 Indian guys (yes from India) buy our tour package thinking that it was a tour of strip clubs (ie: gentlemen's clubs), not Strip Clubs (ie: nightclubs on THE Strip) We ended up refunding them after we hit the 3rd venue and the dryly complained that they had not seen any "dancing girls" and flat out asked (and i quote) "when will we get to see titties?" At that point i asked them what they thought they had purchased from us, and it turns out that they didn't read anything beyond " check out some of the hottest clubs on the Strip" and (possibly due to a mistranslation) assumed that it was a tour of strip clubs. Need less to say we were all embarrassed by the mistake.
Let that long story serve as a simple warning when it comes to Vegas BUYER BE INFORMED. In short, know what your actually buying, don't just assume, it can save you a lot of hassle, time, and money.
My friend who bought the $200 presale ticket to see Aviccii decided that the line wait was bs and ended up giving her ticket to some other girl who said she was willing to wait in the lineup for as long as it would take to see Aviccii
