After spending 7 days at Ballys last week I dont recall anyone renting a cabana even though the pool was pretty busy. Out of the all the people there the age break down was 65% over age 60 (including at least a dozen people in wheelchairs), 25% between 30 and 60 and 10% under 30. The funniest thing I ever witnessed was on Friday people were just hanging out at the pool when a groups of 20 somethings showed up dressed to party with grass skirts, party hats and all the gear. It seemed like time stood still because everyone knew this was not the scene. Then the DJ started to play the club music that turned off 90% of the people.
Advise to Ballys, please decide who you are targeting at the Blu Pool because your clientele is way different than the Flamingo pool or other Las Vegas pools.

I have stayed at Bally's for several years, and what was described above was kinda of accurate, although at 45 years old I would say I was about the median age as most people there. Except on weekends. The last two years or so, I was shocked to see that it turned into party central. The pool was standing room only packed with twenty somethings. The music was rocking. I don't mind, I think it adds a fun atmosphere. It was just very surprising to see this at Bally's. I had brought my 23 year old daughter last year and my 21 year old niece and they had an absolute ball in the pool with all the kids their age. I pretty much stayed on the stairs, sitting in the pool, reading my book, with a cocktail. :peace:

I have a cabana rented for this upcoming Wed at Bally's. We'll see if they went back to the laid back atmosphere or if, even, during the week (which I don't think will happen) it is more of a party atmosphere. I like renting a cabana, even at Bally's, when few other people do. I like having the shade, the mister, the fridge, the loungers, etc. I keep hoping for a cabana boy, but only have ever gotten cabana girls. :rolleyes2: Some people may think it is a waste of money, but for me, it is money saved since I won't be in the casino spending way more than I do on a cabana.

ok, this might be a dumb question, but is the Blu pool different from their regular pool? if it's not, then why are they charging admission? wouldn't i get that free if i am a guest? trying to figure out how good of a deal this actually is since we'll be staying there in june. sorry for all the questions. thanks!

There is only one pool. And yes, if you are a guest of the hotel, you don't pay.
