    How often do they occur?

CET invited me to theirs in Tahoe, but curious on how often they happen generally in Vegas?

Unfortunately not enough...when the Sahara was open they had a daily BJ tournament. I've only seen about 4 or 5 tournaments a year. They are not as popular as they once were. I was invited to the Golden Nugget, Bellagio, Monte Carlo and Paris for a BJ tournament in 2013. I was not able to make any of them. I'm not sure if there are any daily tournaments anymore at any of the casinos.

The tourneys are usually held either to reward high level players or to draw people in at slow times, and times aren't so slow on the strip these days.

That said, Cosmo does send out invites to tourneys to certain players relatively frequently. I can get no info whatsoever from any employee about them even though I hold an invite. The prize pool always sounds way too small, so therefore I have never attended.

CET is constantly holding these events in the hinterlands, but they reserve the right to reduce the prize pool if they don't get the expected amount of players. The expected value is never very good in CET tourney land, but if you are there and invited you might as well play. Not worth a special trip or foregoing some free play or other valuable comp.
