I used to play this side bet at Red Hawk Casino in NorCal.

Basically there are 8 spots and its all about having the same hand as the dealer. 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 (hitting to it), and a Natural Blackjack. The other two spots are for betting a slew of those numbers for a lesser payout. The point was to have the same as the dealer. The payout on both me and dealer having a blackjack was 400:1. I won that a few times. Then... it disappeared back in 2011. Has anyone seen Blackjack Tie side bets anywhere? Namely Vegas? Havent seen it at NorCal or Reno casinos but would love to play a table that has it again.

I've never seen it and 400:1 for both people having blackjack seems insanely high. It happens all the time..

Indeed. I'd say it happens on average at a minimum of every 150 hands or so, probably many times less. Think of it in terms of the dealer asking you if you want "even money" and when you decline insurance there is the once in a while push. This surely happens, on average, several times per 400 hands. Christ, I would bet the table minimum and load up on this side bet, if indeed this is all there is to the bet. If the cards have to be the same, i.e. A, 10 vs. A, 10 or some other derivative of this like matching suits than that is another matter completely.

Looks like as of 2010 they had it at Harrah's. And indeed it does pay 400-1 for tying a dealer BJ for a house edge of 7.86%. Just remember you have to be betting on that particular BJ tie circle to win the 400-1. Getting a BJ at the same time as the dealer in a 6-deck game happens about once in every 461 hands.

Nice lookup. Yeah that is the one and yeah I always bet a dollar on the 400:1 spot. It was funny as I would always pray the dealer had a 21 when I did. It was fun when they had it locally. Im assuming enough people hit the 400:1 that they took it away?

I remember when RedHawk removed it here in NorCal. The pit boss said it was removed because it wasn't popular.
