I've been counting for about a year now - using my players card. I seem to have conservative spreads (50-150). Just to avoid detection. My comps have never been that great. I'm thinking about playing without a card, and play with wider spreads.

What do the counters out there think about playing anonymously? Do pit bosses treat you differently when you buy in with 2-4k without a card?

    Thanks

If you win alot, you need to verify the chips (usually requires ID). If you cash out 10k+ you need Id

deppending on the casino u need way under 10 k to cash out with out a card or id

i belive mlife is around 5 k or a flag chip.
    cet is around 3k plus

    palms is 3 k plus

these are rough numbers that i have to show id at the cage for

    boyd its much lower

I guess I'm not too concerned about showing ID to cash out. Or I can save the chips for my next session.

My question has to do with the ability to count cards and utilize decent spreads without showing a players card. Does not having a players club card draw extra heat?

yes it will , if your going from say 25$ to 500$ and the fact that they dont know u will also be against u.

if u go from 25 to 75$ should be fine

realy depends on your spread and if your winning and how obvoise you are. they will watch from the eye in the sky

i dont count but i bet between 200 and 2500$ a hand in a session becuase they know me i have no problem but if the dont they call up and start watching, ive seen them panick and get othe pnone real quickly at ny ny watching my play aswell as goldcoast, they start freaking out

Buying in with a lot of money and not being concerned with being rated? I think that may draw a little attention, depending where you play.

not an issue going from 50 to 100 to 150 isnt a big deal. if u did 50 to 500then u have problem

    just dont be obvious

i think if ur comps arent that great , notsure where u play but try cet and use ur card and u will atleast get free rooms

If I don't use my players card, then I would try a spread of $50 up to 2 hands of $400. If I ever go that high, I would immediately cash out on the next shuffle.

50- straight to 500 might raise some concerns, but 50 to 250 and then press to 500 after that isn't a big deal.

the problem is many casino track the 5k chips, so the pit may want to see ID (even without a players card they may code it to you in the system). Often when you cash out the 5,000 chips the cage wont release the cash till its approved by the Pit. If you go over to the cage quickly, they wont release the cash without a call or until it pops up in the system.

I don't see an issue playing with a players card anyways. just look surpised when you win

there are about 10 casinos with good DD games. You can rotate them.....betting bigger spreads than you can playing with a card......anyway thats just my idea......looking for comments/ideas....thx

Meyers, I don't have a definitive answer, but I suspect playing with or without the card makes little difference. If you're spreading your bets that much in accordance with a count, I suspect the casino will catch on. At the very least, the dealer is going to notice you. And if you suddenly bump up from a black chip to yellow chips, the dealer is going to alert the supervisor. And if the supervisor wants, they will contact the eye in the sky to monitor or review your play. Go for it, nonetheless, and if you have a good story, please share it

I would play with the card. $50 to $150 will not draw you any heat, so why not take advantage of the comps?
You will almost certainly eat free & never have to pay for a room at that level.
If you're not getting that now, I would go see a host.
And, if that's not enough 'action' to justify a host's attention where you play, then I'd head downtown.
I assure you - your $50 to $150 bets will be treated very nicely, plus you will be able to play the "HL Salons" at Golden Gate & 'theD'. Their $50 min. tables are 3:2 two-deck, with DAS...and, at $50, you'll avoid most of the riff-raff.

Seems like forever from now, but the flights are booked, so it counts!

3X spread is well within the range of average ploppies. You go up to 6 or 8X, so you have multiple blacks AND no players card, depending on the house, they will notice sooner or later. A few hundy is a relatively small bet but they notice spreads.
You will need to keep your sessions short.
