My host has a birthday coming up and I would like to give him a nice gift that does not violate any rules for receiving gifts from players. I don't know much about him other than he gives my husband and I great service when we come to LV a couple times a year. He also has a wife and children. I could use some ideas if you would please share.

I apologize if this post is in the wrong forum.

    Thanks for any help.

I have given actual hard gifts, gift cards and cash. Cash is always done discreetly. I think hosts would prefer cash.

I bring something from my area as an actual gift, but enclose a thank you card inside the gift with cash. I agree they likely prefer cash/gift cards where they can choose what to do with it~ attaching it to a small gift seems to make the process discreet enough~

I actually had a host turn down my envelope. Was told thank you but I can not accept gifts. This was recently. Most of my host has taken Envelopes. But I think they are really cracking down. I had to either give them the envelope Off property or when they walked me to my room. They have taken envelopes either in My room or off property away from camera.

The casino's cracking down on host getting tips?

This was my concern. I don't want to get him in trouble nor do I want to insult him. The off property idea might be good as my husband and I can invite him to dinner or drinks or something. I also don't want to infringe on his time. I am sure he gets enough of his players at the casino and probably does not want want to socialize away from the casino. It's worth a try.

My host has walked me to my rooms to make sure it is OK. And they will take the envelopes once inside the room. That might be an idea.
