Going in February for a girls trip to celebrate my sister's 50th birthday and she really, really, wants to play bingo. I can't think of anything I would like to do less. She swears she has friends that love to play when they go to Vegas.

I'm thinking I will go along with it for a couple hours, but that's probably about all I can stand. I sure hope they serve drinks because if not, there is no way I will be able to handle it.

Anyone actually have fun playing bingo in Vegas? I couldn't find any place to play on the strip, but we will have a car for at least part of the trip. Any recommendations?

I've never played bingo, but GVR has a very large and slick looking new room for bingo. Might be a good choice if you have to play that game.

Gold coast has it, very near the strip.

I played at terribles when it was still terribles. They called the numbers too fas to drink and pay attention.

Get the macjine and just sit there drinking while it does the work for you.

I played at fiesta rancho and it was all paper, good room fun time, cocktails.

I played bingo at South Point for the first time last March. I would highly recommend it. They have sessions every two hours, and each session lasts about 75 minutes. They even have FREE drinks. I think they ask that you limit yourself to 2 drinks. I had two coronas every session I played.

    I also won $600 on a $22 buy-in... so there's that :)

In a word, "NO", unless your idea of fun is having a bunch of blue hair locals frown and stare you down. Oh, and they really go berserk if, God forbid, you should hit a Bingo.:evillaugh

This was at Gold Coast years back.

I had never played bingo, had no interest in bingo and yet I was invited to a bingo tournament at Mirage years ago. I brought my mom. We figured if it was bad, we could leave and just enjoy the free rooms for the weekend. We ended up having a great time. I know a tournament is way different than just playing bingo in some casino, but maybe if you are with a fun group, it could be a memorable couple of hours. If not, it'll give you something to laugh about.

Then again, vegas time is pretty important to me, and it's really hard to get me to do something I really have no desire to do. So good luck with that decision, lol

My sister is actually looking at South Point. I have never been there, so maybe it won't be as bad as I fear.

    Thanks for the info.

I have played Bingo once in Vegas.. and I found it extremely stressful. Fast paced.. serious bingo players who HUSHED us, and definitely and older crowd (Sam's Town). That was before they had the automatic machines, so I may have to retry it some day.. I just can't keep up with the Fast Paced Dobbing .:)

I was dragged to BINGO one time in Vegas and a couple of times on a Cruise Ship. Personally I find it boring but women seem to like it.
I won a Bingo (if that's the saying) that first time in Vegas but I didn't yell out BINGO loud enough and so I was passed over. Never Again!
I heard mumblings from the crowd and even got the evil eye from a few of them. It was embarrassing. Those little old Lady's are ruthless!

Everybody's perception of fun differs. Bingo can be fun. Or not. Depends on attitude, the surroundings, and who you're with.

You pretty much nailed it right there. I played it once, when a free bingo tourney invite coincided with an already-planned trip. Definitely not what one would refer to as "fun". You'll have to suck it up since it's the birthday girl's request, and you have the right idea....drink heavily.

I had never played bingo till about my 20th trip to Vegas 3 years ago. I was at South Point and walked into the bingo room. I had no idea how to start, how machines worked, nothing basically. The people at the windows were great, very helpful, very patient. I was with my son and we both got the electronic units. Very easy to use. We set next to some "older" ladies and learned what to expect. They were a riot. I think we won around a hundred dollars between us. But what I thought might be boring was lots of fun. Relaxing to me, nice to visit with whom you're with, couple of free drinks per round and a win every once in a while thought not big. Now bingo is always on my list to do. But there are some there who take it very serious and that's ok. Everything about it is good.

If we don't go along with her request, we will never hear the end of it. At the very least we will have something to talk about for years to come. Somehow, we always manage to have fun, even when doing the stupidest things.
