Sadly, the Sky Mall catalog is no more!

I just made a quick trip to Dallas and back, four separate MD-88's and none of them had a single Sky Mall catalog. Three seats in First and because I missed a connection I had to make one leg flying with the unwashed masses in Coach and none of those seats had a Sky Mall catalog either. (I encountered three goats and a lady making tortillas though.)

Where are the gum chewers supposed to put their gum? How about the nose pickers? Surely there has to be a class action lawsuit for the booger advantaged flyer who is now deprived of a glossy repository? What am I supposed to sneeze in? My shirt?

Look at the bright side. With 160 seats, 160 magazines weighing maybe 8 ounces? That's 80 lbs. Haul that up and down, throughout all the fleet and that's a couple million dollars in fuel savings every year I bet! More than their commission on those chloroform dog beds when Fluffy can't get around anymore. Or maybe I read that wrong the last time I perused that useless catalog....

    Progress? Entropy?

It's a section in coach (usually the last four rows are so) where they set up little booths to sell various wares to the folks in coach. Most often, there are little trinkets, gifts, cheap jewelry, etc.

    Don't worry...skymall.com has you covered.

And sadly, I have looked at a Skymall mag on a lot on flights. But I haven't bought anything...I'm not that crazy. Lately free TV on southwest has been entertaining me more though.

Skymall has some cool stuff. I love to head back there and browse. I've always been tempted to buy the bug vacuum.

Bally's is attempting to recreate this on their new "mall".

If you like skymall be sure to check out the sky maul catalog parodies. They are really funny. They just put out a new one. Definitely would be on amazon.

Now where will I get to watch passengers lick their fingers to flip the pages like the 1000 or so people before them.
