The sign is probably the most famous Googie in the world.

RIP Betty, she was the designer of the most iconic sign in the world and with not copyrighting it made no money from it, I read somewhere that she said that it was her gift to the city.

In my many trips over many years I've never stopped there. Weird.

Two replicas were built this Millennium (Welcome to Fabulous Downtown Las Vegas (Fourth and Las Vegas Blvd) & Welcome To Fabulous Las Vegas on Boulder Highway), but there will always be only one original.

    Such a great iconic sign!
