Hey everyone I'm going to vegas for my first time staying at the cosmo next month. I am wondering in your opinion what is the absolute best restaurant in vegas? I want to have one lunch or dinner where I treat myself to something special and experience the best vegas has to offer.

    Thanks in advance

Well with so many wonderful options at your disposal, I'm sure you're going to get a myriad of responses. Is there a favorite type of food you like? Italian? French? Steakhouse? With literally so many five star restaurants within 5 mile stretch, a little help narrowing it down would help you out greatly in your quest :)

Prime Steakhouse @ Bellagio is the best restaurant on the face of the Earth.

If you're looking for the BEST restaurant in Vegas I'm sure you'll find plenty of debate, but in generally a good consensus would be:

    Top Tasting Menus:
    - Joel Robuchon (MGM)
    - E at Cosmo (needs to be reserved way in advance I've heard)
    - Guy Savoy (Caesars)

    Top Standard Gourmet Fair:
    - Twist at Mandarin Oriental
    - Le' Cirque at Bellagio
    - Picasso at Bellagio

There's about 6 or 7 steak places that are all amazing but if you're looking for steak with an Italian slant try Carniveno at Venetian.

Other really high end italian is Sinatra at the Wynn, but unfortunately I've never eaten there.

I would personally recommend Joel Robuchon and Bradley Ogden (Caesars); I would rate them in my top 10 meals of all time. I don't normally do Italian in Vegas, but Carnevino and Sinatra were both fantastic. If you want more casual Italian at Cosmo, I enjoyed DOCG.

    At the Cosmo? TRY E!!!

    E is dinner only

Reservations required. Plus, they give you a special golden ticket.

Picasso's-Once in a lifetime atmosphere with museum quality Piccaso art and top of the line gourmet food. Culture and a great meal all-in-one, a rarity in anywhere, let alone Las Vegas.

My personal fave Italian place to eat in Vegas is Maggianos, I absolutely love that place! So much so we actually held our wedding reception there last year after getting married at the Wynn. Counting down the days until we go back! :nworthy:

For Italian, I'd say hands down Sinatra. Absolutely over the top wonderful.

We haven't done much Italian in Vegas, but we had a FABULOUS meal at Zefferino's in the Venetian. (It was by accident, we went for lunch, thinking we were going to have pizza out in the "outside" part and they took us upstairs, we were totally under dressed and nobody batted an eye (me in my Phillies T-shirt and my husband wearing his Navy T-shirt, both of us in shorts and sneakers, we looked like typical American Tourists!)

we started with Oysters that were as fresh and tasty as any I've had here on the East Coast.

For lunch, I had the seafood risotto which was one of the specials and my husband had an agnolotti which was another special... both were absolutely incredible

Le Cirque is great, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Next visit try Circo. I get to sample more restaurants than most since Vegas is home and we've had several outstanding meals, but the place we return to over and over again for stellar experiences is Circo at Bellagio.

After looking at their menu, I may go that route instead, the food seems to be more my taste and more affordable as well. If you enjoyed it I am sure I will as well. Thanks for the advice
