What are the best spots (strip and downtown) to get prime rib in Vegas these days? I am looking for buffet versions, cheap but good quality deals as well as the high end steakhouse with great quality as well. Some of the best I have had was in the steakhouse at the old Barbary Coast/Bill's (closed now). Opinions out there?

Downtown @ the California Market Street Cafe .... sit down dinner (not a buffet).
Trip to the salad bar, nice 8 oz. prime rib, large baked potato, green beans (usually), and cherries jubilee for dessert ... all for $9.99.

This is off the Strip but worth the short trip. It's the Prime Rib Loft at the Orleans Casino. The prime rib is aged 21 days and offered in 3 different size cuts.
    10 oz. $17
    14 oz. $20
    24 oz. $27

It comes with your choice of a baked potato or roasted garlic mashed potatoes.

Well, JR ... I've never had it but it's still on their coffee shop menu :

    English Cut 8 to 10 oz. -- $13.89
    Thick Cut 28 to 30 oz. -- $20.89
    Double Cut 48 oz. -- $41.89

Served with choice of potato or rice or ear of corn, choice of soup or salad, and choice of homemade bread.

+1 for Lawry's, was always our date night spot. On Flamingo halfway between Ellis Island and Terrible's on the north side of the road. They cart the entire side of beef to your table and slice off whatever cut you choose... best prime rib I've ever had.

Not very recently but last July I had the thick cut and it was very good. Same thing in years past. It has been consistently good. They slow roast the prime rib at 200ยบ for optimum flavor and tenderness. The coffee shop ambiance is fairly plain but comfortable. They also have some very good baked desserts that are made in-house.

    I'm getting hungry.....!

    My best spots are:

Market St. Cafe at the Cal.

    Redwood Grill at the Cal.

    Bellagio Buffet.

"Best" is subjective. Everyone will have their favorites!

Overlooked and underrated for prime rib is Jerry's Nugget.

Try it! You will like it. Not the best neighborhood, but a great meal at a great price!

Another +1 for Lawrey's. Excellent beef perfectly done and presented and great side dishes too. Perfect guy place.

As for downtown, consider Binions. Great food, not trememdously expensive and an incredible view.

Prime Rib is usually too bloody for me at the Buffets, so if the buffet has a fire grill, I'll ask the chef to throw the meat on the fire for a couple minutes each side. You won't believe the difference.

I always have the 14 oz prime rib at Dupars at the Golden Gate. Cooked to your liking with au just, horseradish sauce, mashed potatoes and pan roasted vegetables. It's like $16 or $17 and its always been amazing for me

great prime rib dinner at Ellis Island, although anyone ordering meat at the EI cafe seems to want the steak special. i'll take their prime rib over the steak.

Buffet style, the only ones I had are flamingo and the quad...Might not be the best but its ok. Hard Rock Mr Lucky's has a deal where its like 10$ for unlimited, they only bring one peice out at a time though. That is actually pretty good :)
