I'm still in Vegas and today I woke up with a nasty hangover, solving it with my usual Gatorade and pepto bismol for the nausea. What are your best cures?

Also my buddy was telling me that I was really hammered last night, I was talking about an elephant that apparently did not exist. He said one of the dealers at Aria was getting a little concerned about my drunkenness. I don't remember any of it!

I was going to suggest he check the bathroom for tigers. :)

My best hangover cure is DON'T GET THAT WASTED!! :wink2: But really, I try to stay hydrated with something other than booze. I also try to eat a carb-laden meal before I sleep. That's why the Buffoons are always saying, "Eat your sammich!" or "Toast! I need TOAST!!!"

No tigers in the bathroom, checked it. So it turns out the elephant I was imagining was this British guy we ran into at Monte Carlo when we were playing blackjack. We hung out the whole night and insisted he was an elephant. We played some blackjack at Aria and then wandered about aimlessly for a few hours more before he went back to his hotel. I still don't remember it but my buddy wouldn't lie

Wait. You insisted the guy was an elephant? or the British guy insisted he was an elephant?

I dunno.. it's starting to sound like Jager shots were involved. :haha:

I've located some documentary evidence indicating your blackjack playing elephant story is plausible.

Just be happy that you were only drunk enough to see elephants..any drunker and you could have wound up at a 6:5 table.

Sorry to say the others are all wrong.....being from the east coast of Canada I a have a TRIED and tested method to cure a hangover...

Hair of the dog....and a big plate of greasy French fires with Gravy or better yet, a poutine! Works EVERY time!

Better yet, simply don't stop drinking or go to bed....surly you can go for 3-4 days with no sleep in Vegas :)

The older I get, the more hungover I get with less booze. What is poutine? I don't think we have that in the USA except may Wisconsin.

    Two solutions:

    1. Hydrate to the point you think you may piss your pants before going to bed. Wake up in the middle of the night to pee and then take your favorite headache medicine (I prefer Alleve). Wake up, head down to the casino, and order a bloody mary, white russian, or bailey's and coffee. Or order all 3.

    2. Get just a few hours of sleep so when you wake up, you'll still be drunk. Head down to the casino, and order a bloody mary, white russian, or bailey's and coffee. Or order all 3.

If you're still in Vegas, check out places like Pushlv.com and Reviv at MGM. You can get a full IV to rehydrate, which is the quickest/best way to recover.

Tons of water before bed w Advil gelcaps (4) then slam a Pedialyte first thing in the a.m. Treadmill. Sauna. Cured...

Works for me anyway. I'm one of those idiots that will exercise with a hangover.

You never know about the 6:5. I saw a $50 table at Aria that was 6:5 and it was packed. I would think at that level people would have known

I've heard pedialyte is great if you can't get an IV. Back in college, I used to get up and try to have some oatmeal or a banana, along with some peanut butter and milk (assuming your stomach isn't terrible yet) and go back to bed. I also sometimes would take tylenol PM and go back to sleep, though I'm not sure how safe this is, nor if you want to put any extra strain on your liver and kidneys

    Pedialyte.

CaptRon suggested it to me prior to my last trip and it worked great. My hangovers aren't as bad now as when I was younger but being older I hate even minor hangovers. I want to wake up fresh and ready to go.

I'd drink 1-2 liters of aquafina water and some pedialyte and pop a few Advil and I was good.

Next trip I'm going to not only continue that but then hit the spa right away for a massage and sauna treatment and then a nice breakfast buffet.

Lots of water and a shot of Fernet Branca. It's a "restorative". Trust me on this one. And they'll comp It on the floor at Aria. Works wonders. Get past the taste. (I don't mind it to be honest). Some say have one at the end of the night as a preventative. Never tried that.
