So my trip is 59 days away, and I haven't done my research or kept up since last June. I know a lot of the hotels and casinos have changed names or closed. I'm looking for a decent book to read. I was looking at Frommer's 2013 but is this updated enough?

    Thanks Folks in advance

I'm not sure any book can keep up with Las Vegas changes. I guess I'd make the trip to a bookstore and see what they have. I used to buy Las Vegas travel books pretty regularly and I would get Frommer's, Fodor's and the Unofficial Guide to Las Vegas.

Off the top of my head, now closed are:
    Western, Gold Spike, Bill's & O'Sheas.

    IP has changed to 'Quad'
    Fitz has changed to 'theD'
    Plaza is open
LVC is no longer using their hotel rooms.

That's all of the changes that are "recent" to me.

Oh yeah..."terminal 3" is now open at McCarran.

Seems like forever from now, but the flights are booked, so it counts!

I'd check out the bookstores, like B&N, and ask them when the 2014 versions come out. I know they usually come out a long time before the new year begins. To echo the above post, those three are usually the best. You might also want to call the gamblers book store http://www.gamblersbookclub.com/ they are a great resource. Good luck and have fun.:peace:

If you have an iPhone or ipad there are several free apps such as Vegas mate that update almost every time you open them. I like them for easy access to menus.

Vegas tour books pale in comparison to what is found on message boards such as T2V.
