OK...I'll cut to the chase......I have a VIP room key from a previous stay a couple months ago. Can I reuse the key on a subsequent visit? That is, are there any perks of having this room key to just 'flash' at certain places at the Bellagio or will they have to scan it each time to verify if I'm a current guest?

(VIP Lounge, Buffet Line Pass, Pool use, discounts, etc.)

    Thanks.

PS. Leaving to Vegas tomorrow....please respond ASAP.

VIP lounge they never check. it should get you a line pass, though, but nothing at the pool and no discounts.

Where is the VIP Lounge at the Bellagio? Will I need to go to an upper floor? If so, my 'old' VIP Room key card may not work in the elevator.

You cannot get into the pool, they scan the keys there.

VIP room has two entrances, one behind the left side of the baccarat bar, the other on the right side coming from the registration area before you enter the conservatory. Both are unmarked doors.

The key changes slightly, I have two versions. But its not like Aria where you have to show the key to a guard to get into the sky suites.

I look at it like this, if you sometimes stay in the higher accomodations, and want to give the attendant in there a nice tip, grab a few drinks and some cookies, and its slow so you aren't impacting paying guests or high rollers, it probably isn't hurting anything.

What I'll do is roll in from the Baccarat area, walking purposefully, approach the drink area if no one is waiting, if other customers are waiting, I'll abort and walk thru to the conservatory. Do not smile or make eye contact with the vip check in ladies.

If no one is waiting I'll prominently pull out a $5 if I'm alone, $10 if i'm with buddies. Not a bunch of $1's, a larger bill. I won't go in with more than 2 add'l friends.

Make small talk like "Is Jose still around?", "Or is Alfred still working so hard at Aria that he's got the bloodshot eyes?". Only say that if its not Jose or Alfred, lol.

Tell the gal what you want, extra stiff if she doesn't mind. After you get your drink, scan the room for hot chicks and minor celebrities, good time for a pick. Just make sure you distinguish between Miss New Jersey and the Jail-Bait Miss TEEN New Jersey, as rumor has it this mistake has been made in the past.....

Walk out confidently, but not arrogantly.

Enjoy your triple Ketel-Soda and cookies!

FYI - that VIP room is used primarily as a checkin area along with Concierge type duties. Though there are a few chairs or couches to sit in, rarely do you see that taking place. This is NOTHING like a Diamond Lounge, or the Suite/VIP lounge near the top of Mandalay Bay. If you just wander in there, one of the desk clerks may ask to help you, since that is normally the only reason somebody comes in there. Yes, they do have some light snacks - usually cookie - and a very limited bar set up.

I think its pretty safe to say that the key might be from a previous stay, a couple of months ago... but it wasn't your previous stay and that you likely bought the key off the internet.

That would explain why you can't remember where things are... why you can't remember who scans the key or who just looks at it...

It would also explain why you are so super excited and gung-ho to make sure you use all the perks and benefits on this trip, when you aren't a VIP staying at Bellagio... but when you were a VIP staying at Bellagio you apparently had no interest in any of the VIP perks and/or couldn't be bothered to check them out or look them up or try to use any of them.

    Just my suspicions...

lol, they should come with instructions.

"VIP keys allow you to swim in the fountains. just jump in and when the security drags you out, just show them the VIP key and you're all set!"

I wonder if the seller removed the information encoded on the magnetic stripe? Someone told me to never return magnetic stripe key cards to the hotel since it contains credit card info and someone could use a card reader to steal your credit card number.

I seen a girl who must of bought one then with those exact instructions. I was walking the strip last summer, probably around 3-4AM, and there was a group of like 10 people yelling DO IT, DO IT! So I walk over there to see what the commotion was. Once I get over there a girl takes her shirt/pants off, she had her swimsuit on underneath, and jumps right in. She swam around for 30 seconds or so, then her friends pulled her out and they walked off like nothing happened. It was pretty entertaining, should of followed them around to see what other kind of shit they had planned.

to Auggie; I was visiting on business for ONE DAY...that is why I didn't get to benefit from any of the VIP status perks. Stumbled across this forum researching VIP info.

BTW, had a great time in LV this past week. Enjoyed the VIP lounges without a hitch....got my line pass for the awesome bufffet, and especially enjoyed the 115 degree heat.

Thanks to all who replied to my initial posting. You guys are great!
