    My Trip Report

Well it’s been quite some time since I have posted a TR but thought I would do another as I always enjoying reading other’s reports on this forum. I rather enjoy the updated information on hotel, restaurants, shows, pics, etc. that everyone posts. I really give credit to all that post the live trip reports, not sure how you do it. I had a hard time remembering to take pics of this and that and when I would get about half way through a meal I would remember that I needed a pic of the menu or the food or both. Not much time to put this together before some upcoming busy weeks so here we go.

We stayed at the Bellagio from Oct 3-7 for my B-Day, Friends, Ironman Competition, Craps, Cigars, Crown Royal, Steaks, Pool, etc.

Cash bankroll to get me there and hopefully no ATM or trips to Wells Fargo Bank on Howard Hughes Parkway.

D and I flew out of PDX on SWA for a free uneventful flight, the best kind, free and uneventful.

We arrived in LAS on time and were greeted by our limo driver, Michael. He was very attentive and we had some good conversation during the short time we were with him. I grabbed some Crown Royal and wine for the room at the liquor store inside the airport and we were off. Yes I know, much cheaper at other places but when in LV you only have so many hours so I figure I would rather pay a little more than run around to save five bucks.

We were greeted curbside at the Bellagio by Lisa who quickly swept us into the Chairman’s Lounge check-in. We had reserved a Penthouse Fountain View Suite and were given a room at the end of the end of the hallway on the 28th floor (the view of the hallway to the room kinda reminded me of the show The Shining). Nice room with a great view of the strip. Bellman swiftly got our bags up to the room.

D and I head down to the VIP room to grab a drink and decide what we were going to do while waiting for our friends G & S to arrive in about three hours who were also staying at the Bellagio. Our friends E & K were in Henderson already as he was competing in the half Ironman on Sunday.

    IMG_0835.jpg

Started at the Craps table and had a winning session so I was happy with that. Stopped by at Roulette to give a little back and then met up with G & S. The girls went to have a drink and G & I played a loosing session at Let It Ride. Back to Craps for another winning session before dinner and played with VBMer Test 123. He was at one end of the table and me at the other so I was glad he shouted out to me. Unfortunately we were never about to coordinate another time to met after that this trip, next time buddy! Good start to the trip.

    IMG_0836.jpg

Dinner at Fix for the four of us. In short, dinner was good not great. I was turned off by our waiter who continually told us how he basically makes his living on tips. Aw, got it, not my first time eating out or visiting LV (85).

Whew that was just day 1, might have to rethink this. Okay I won’t make this a book and give a play by play of each day. I think I will just write a few thoughts of some of the restaurants we ate at and casinos we visited.

I’ll include some pics that are self-explanatory and others I will caption.

A little table action in the morning on Sunday before heading out to support E in the Ironman race in Henderson. D & I ate at the Bellagio Buffet and it has seriously gone down hill and I will not return. The food was IMHO horrible and the way they have it set up was not smart as they had the staples (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, etc.) right next to the omelet order line so you basically couldn’t get to the aforementioned because of the omelet line.

S met up with us to go to Henderson and told us G didn’t get in until 0600 so that he would not be going to the race with us. Needless to say I don’t think S was too happy with him. We took Uber down to the District area in Henderson. Hot and windy out so we hung out there for about four hours until E completed the 70.3 mile race. He is normally a marathon runner who has been switching it up lately due to boredom and getting into tough mudders and now the Ironman competitions. My hat is off to E for all of the training to prepare for the race and finishing it!

Uber back to Bellagio and this was actually my first time through the tunnel ever! I was busy chatting and not paying attention but no big deal as the ride is way cheaper and cleaner than a taxi.

G & S wanted to go to PF Changs so head to P Ho and had an alright meal there. After dinner to Paris for Craps and if I recall correctly broke even that session.

Monday it rained all day. Hey I’m from the Pacific Northwest and didn’t travel to LV to see more rain. LOL D was a little disappointed since she really doesn’t gamble all that much and is more of a pool, spa, room gal. No big deal as the rain is needed. Today is my birthday so I went up to my ol’ standby, the Mirage for some Let It Ride and Craps. I had a good time there considering they had construction going on inside. Putting a large bar in the center of the place according to one of the dealers. Small win but a win is a win:

    IMG_0880.jpg

I only post this because these Aces show up again at the end of the trip, Yeah Baby!

    IMG_0857.jpg

Back to the Bellagio to meet up with VMBer Fenway68 after dealing with some issues with our room. Fenway 68 and I had some drinks and a cigar in the Baccarat Bar and we were eventually joined by G, S, & D. Fenway68 was a great guy to talk with and I wish we would have been able to play some table games together but we had to get ready for dinner at Prime Steakhouse. We had a great dinner with impeccable service. Walter was a great waiter and had a great sense of humor.

I guess this was a room issue apology, they were very tasty:

    IMG_0859.jpg

Dinner at Prime Steakhouse with a beautiful view of the fountains. Not a window seat since there were 6 of us. Everyone’s dinner was great and the Lobster Mashed Potatoes are a must order!

    IMG_0861.jpg
    IMG_0870.jpg
I had the bone-in filet. Great flavor and cooked perfectly to my liking.

We headed down to Freemont Street to see if we could change things up as it had been a few trips since my last visit to Old Vegas. We all grabbed a Let It Ride table at the Golden Nugget and I continued to lose, lose, lose at LIR. I left the table for a wining Craps session while E stayed at LIR with his 100 buy-in and walked away 1300 up. I walked away 1k up on Craps.

    IMG_0874.jpg

We played at Binion’s, Four Queens, and The D with really nothing to report. Back to Bellagio where I played a losing session of Craps and then some BJ. On the tables back and fourth and went to the bar to play some bar top VP. Put in 100 and hit this 45 in and headed up to the room around 0400.

    IMG_0877.jpg
    IMG_0878.jpg

Walked into the room each night with a great view of the strip. I didn’t realize the TV reflection in this pic when I took it.

    IMG_0839.jpg

Tuesday we ate at Café Bellagio and found the service and food to be good.

    IMG_0879.jpg

Not doing so great on the tables in this morning and head to TI, Mirage , and then back to the Bellagio. D spent her day poolside and enjoyed herself with visits from S & K. I briefly visited but come’on I had work to do on the felt!!

Tuesday night E, G, and I hit the MGM, Hooters, Tropicana, Mandalay Bay, NYNY while the girls hung out at the Bellagio. Not real big wins but really noticed that all of those casinos mentioned were pretty run down and needed some TLC. Headed back to Bellagio and played BJ and around 0400 sat at the bar (can’t remember what this is called) next to the Baccarat Bar and was in 35 of 100 buy-in and hit this……

    IMG_0883.jpg
    IMG_0882.jpg

A W2 later and up to the room around 0445. Ended the trip with this being my last bet for the trip. So I ended on a positive note but still down for the trip. D hit a small slot win on Wednesday morning while we were waiting for the limo to the airport.

    IMG_0887.jpg

LAS waiting to return to the rainy NW.

    IMG_0895.jpg

Overall I had a good trip and it was great to see old friends. For some reason this time I felt that a lot of the properties were pretty run down. Granted I didn’t get to the Wynn, Venetian, etc. this trip so maybe just me this trip. Freemont Street seems to have become less of a desire for me, enough said.

Bellagio drink service was by far the best with the Mirage running a close second. All the staff at the Bellagio were very good to us and we appreciated it.

Well I hope you enjoyed this TR kinda rushed so it’s a little choppy. If you made it this far thanks for reading.

    Happy Halloween!!!

    Tony

Great read. Thanks for filling us in. F that waiter, nothing pisses me off more. Congrats on the Handy. Glad you came home with some cash!

P.S. I would read the long version. If you have any stories that are full of details, my motto is more the merrier!

Thanks for the report and details and pics! I love Prime and seeing your dinner is making me regret not booking it for our upcoming trip. Going to give Gordon Ramsey's a try. Thanks again for the report!

Nice redraw with the quad 4s! And very nice finish with the Aces with Kicker! Much better looking than the Aces at 6/5 Jacks with a $375 royal (93.86%) at that crappy mirage sports bar. You had you be betting 10 to get a full pay royal there...greedy assholes. Of course that happened to be where I got my first Aces w/kicker at DDB while betting 1 coin.

Great report overall! Glad you had a good time!

    Jordan - Thanks for reading!

B_S - Thanks for reading. No good stories this time (however I do have some from other trips) as we all had our ladies with us. However, I must say that the working girls are getting way more aggressive, at least they were this trip at the Bellagio...............

    Ineedbeer - Thanks for reading!

TBone3336 - I highly recommend Prime, it was well worth it. Not sure if I have eaten at Gordon Ramsay's place. I did eat at Emeril Lagasse's at MGM and if I recall correctly it was alright but nothing special.

Spicole - Glad you liked the TR. Yes the room was very nice, D really liked it so made some points there!

Thank you all for reading and your comments. Good luck to all of you on your next visit to LV!!

    Flowers - Thanks for reading!

Wezvidz – Yes since it was about 0430 it was kind of a blur and a shock since I was only 35 into it. It was a good surprise and nice way to end the night. Thanks for reading!

Imperial Palace King - Yes we had a good time. I’m looking forward to another one of your TR’s! You might see another one of mine in mid-March from Freemont ST and the Nugget. Need to do an old school trip.

Fenway68 – It was great to meet you and chat over some drinks and a cigar!! Again, some time soon.

Wait, what? Waiters work for tips? Unreal! I am an overtipper if anything, but he would have gotten the minimum, if that. Glad you got a few big hits. And, just ask my husband, the BEST stories can be when you are with your wife. :)

Great report and photos. The last few times I've pkayed at Bellagio, I have not gotten a single drink in over 2 hours so I was surprised you had the best drink service there. I always have the best service at Cosmo, Cromwell Palms and Trop.

Queentata – Yes I too am like you and tip fairly heavy especially for a good meal and good service. I just thought the waiter was pretty tacky. Q you kinda got me there but you knew what I meant…….. D and I have a great time in LV together but guys trips are different and I’ll leave it at that.

    Thanks for reading!

Breanna61 – If I recall correctly from your past reports you area slots player. I play mostly Craps and other table games so I’m not sure if that is why I had a different drink service experience at the Bellagio. I would think the slots plays get better service since they get better comps too IMHO. I commented on it since I was never without a drink in hand, the way it should be especially when tables are at 10-15 minimums. We didn’t make it to the Cosmo, Cromwell, or Palms this time but did make a quick visit to the Trop If I remember right it was good service at the 3-card poker table where we sat at but really wasn’t there for more than a couple of drinks.

Thanks for the feedback and reading my TR!
