Bellagio feels the need to go fishing?

Every trip my Wife and I spend a day on the Strip, visiting the various resorts and casinos. We always visit the Bellagio to see the conservatory or fountains.

We hardly play there. In fact 3 years ago I believe I put a twenty into a VP machine and got a 4OAK. My Wife and I got a good laugh then moved on.

I got a promotion flyer the other day. Offered me a $85 a night room. Probably of a wonderful view of their AC units, lol!

I think it's great when a resort attempts to reach out to new customers but I'd never think the Bellagio needed to reach out to people like me who obviously are not interested in staying there based on previous play history.

Is the Bellagio falling on hard times?

I got an offer for four free nights at Bellagio with $50 in freeplay and $50 in resort credit. I gambled there once in 2015, I stuck $100 in a slot and lost $81 of it but cycled $1100 through on that single $100 bill. Don't think I didn't book all four nights.

The MGM properties have been sending out a bunch of these, apparently timed with the planned rollout of paid parking.

I get all the anger over paid parking, but for me it is a non issue. I don't rent a car but if I did I am gold with Mlife so would be covered.

It's really weird, this last round of offers.

Because a lot of more established somewhat larger players' offers have gotten worse going from the last round to more recent offers.

I don't see why there would be any connection to paid parking, even if the only people who were getting these offers were within driving distance. What, you're going to comp someone 4 nights at Aria and throw in $100 worth of add-ins to offset a parking fee?

Yes, mine went down - not by much, but it went down, and it certainly wasn't because of reduced play. Well I hope it pays off for them because they lost me for my May trip. I've had pretty static spring offers from them for the past several years. My spring offer ALWAYS included extra birthday free play, which is what has motivated me to keep staying there, as I'm rather a free play slut - and I'm typically going to go with the property offering me the most. But without that, their offer is no better than any other property. So, hello Cosmo :)

Yeah, I mean it doesn't bother me that people are getting these offers, I'm just trying to figure out what MGM's strategy is. They have short "book by" deadlines, so you can see it as a bid to try to do a quick hit to fill up rooms, but at the same time, they're also going to players who by their own accounts don't gamble that much. Maybe some of them are teasers.

Cosmo is getting very aggressive, it wouldn't surprise me if they are stealing some share from MGM. At the same time, you would expect MGM to answer by sweetening offers for the same level of players.

Well....thanks for the "heads up" --
I'd toss a few $$ in those casinos slots - to receive those offers !

Don't think it is just Bellagio.
Have not stayed at CP or any CET in over six years and I started getting offers from them a couple months ago.
Was at Aria over NYE with friends who did not gamble(maybe 2 hours of quarter VP) and they are getting offers now too.
I don't think paid parking is in the mix.

This is interesting as I fall in a similar bucket of people. I have stayed at MGM and Luxor 1 time each and both times played less than $500 each trip. I did sign up for the Mlife card and typically get emails offering discounted rates only....never a comp. However 2 weeks ago I received an email from Monte Carlo saying I had 2 nights comp. I have never stepped foot into Monte Carlo. I was wondering why I qualified for the offer. But It worked, I could not pass up my first comp offer so I called the number and made a reservation. Maybe their offers are working at the low roller level? Does make you wonder what the strategy is as I have my same less than $500 that I will be bringing with me.

Same here JosieCat. I'm a platinum slot player, and even my latest home base offer was less than previous offers plus 'corporate' offers from other mlife properties aren't great, and I also did not get my usual Birthday Free Play offer from Bellagio - something odd indeed is going on. I have never gotten or seen those calendar offers and neither has my husband, maybe because my FP and RC are higher than those posted on the calendar offers exclude us from getting them? Just interesting to see all the variations on these promos - but I'm glad folks who hadn't gotten these in the past are getting them now - the more options the better for everyone!

I was a Pearl with MLife in 2013 won a 2.7k hand pay at Bellaigo. Life happens and I couldn't make it back to Vegas since Oct 2014. Well out of the blue I got a 3 night suite stay $300 F/B offer which I booked for this upcoming memorial wkend. When I made the booking, I was told suite would not be available but I can check in at invited guest line and the reservation agent said will put in request for early check in. I think F/B would be only good for Bellago restaurants :(
I do not know if I will have to pay for resort fees or not...

Also, last year I was receiving free stay offer from a Mirage and Aria (cycled maybe 1k coin in during 2013). But have not rcvd offers since then. As of today, the MLife website shows winter discount room offer only.

That's a great offer, which I thought when I received mine, was because of my last stay/play. It turns out now that it's a blanket offer. [IMG]

I am completely agree with you both!
I am a lower roller compared to you two. But Bellagio has been my home base for years and my play is consistent.
Now my offer is just insulting while they reach out to new players with better offers.
Don't understand what they have in mind.

Same here. For the past few years my stays (and most of my play) have been some combination of Aria and Bellagio. This past trip was Aria and Palazzo. I'm glad I got some Grazie play in after seeing my current MLife offers.

Well actually I think they've lost their mind. Reaching out to me (the OP) who has never played 1 cent in the past 3 years and offering me something is stupid. It's very obvious I'm not interested in them and is a total waste of money. Doing this while short-changing the loyal customers who have seen their comps lessen is just plain stupid.

    Stupid, stupid, stupid.

There's no "rhyme or reason" for Bellagio or others to offer certain comp'd nights. I used to stay at Bellagio but I've preferred Wynn for the last 7-8 years. I did hit a slot last October in Aria for about $2,500 but again, nothing from Mlife except a small discount on rooms. I do get freebies including airfare to the Beau Rivage (which is Great) in Biloxi & going there in May but just got another 3 night comp with $300 FP at Wynn ~ going there late August. I guess, take what you get & don't get a headache trying to figure casino marketing out! :usa:

Unfortunately I wont be using it. I am already booked for two trips at Caesars during that time. Much better offers and I love the tub. But I will go to eat there.
