HI everyone. Yes, I have returned. I wanted to let everyone know I have not left. We have been going through some changes so, my message board time has kind of fallen behind. I hope everyone is well and for those that have come see me at the Plaza....THANK YOU!!!!! I hope everyone has had a good experience with the variety of Plaza changes. And of course, if anyone has questions or comments please feel free to contact me. As most here know, I am still very open minded to your thoughts. I also work later in the day so feel free to stop in. I like dark liquor. lol Have a great day everyone! Oh, also, I would like comments on slot machines. If you have ideas of what you would like to see let me know. Check out what we have and give me suggestions. VP players...you know I like you guys for sure so I am still taking suggestions.

My sister, sister, and friend are looking forward to our three night stay at the Plaza August 1. We are anxious to have our first stay since the renovation. We certainly will check out the new slot machines and I will be sure to comment on them. We hope to combine our stay with slot and blackjack play. We will stop by to thank you in person for your assistance regarding our stay. And, I also would like to thank you for passing on various concerns, comments, suggestions to the appropriate Plaza personnel.

My wife and I were there last week. One comment: They need to put some beer (Bud Light) on ice. Too many warm beers.
Stayed at the Fremont, never again rooms too small.

My wife and I stayed there a couple of weeks ago for a night. I really liked the room other than the bathroom being a little small. Nice furniture, comfortable bed. We did stop by to say hi to Curt. He's very nice and assisted us where he could. My only suggestion for VP would be for it to count for points. The counter never changed from zero, but I believe Curt still saw our play. I was pleasantly surprised by Plaza. Can't comment on restaurants other than we went by HHAGG a few times and it was pretty full. And the McD in the food court could get their act together some, but I'm sure thats a McD issue, not Plaza's.

Oh, one last thing Curt: You need to have a lower limit Pai Gow table. $25 downtown is too much. I can go to other casinos and play for around $10.

To other VMB'ers out there, give Curt and Plaza a chance..you never know

My friend just got back from Downtown with his golf buddies. They had a great golf trip and played Bingo at the Plaza every night.

I think I'll play bingo with my wife and in-laws at the Plaza when we hit Downtown in August.

Something different besides the usual gambling, shopping, sightseeing, dining, shows, etc., etc.

I really can't say enough good things about the Plaza and the way they treat me. They have by far the best sportsbook downtown. I enjoy the fun mix of people, the ability to get some laps in the pool before it gets crowded, the extreme ease of the valet parking to the south tower, and the rooms that have everything I need. I have never seen the pai-gow table above a $10 minimum. They really seem to try fairly hard to change things to meet the interests and needs of their customers. I was there this year for Super Bowl, March Madness and Ky Derby. Now just need to get a fall trip planned.

    Curt!
Fair warning...I'll be back in August! (check my timer)
Would love to see the 2-deck blackjack table back at $10 during the day... (hint?)
Oh, and fire-up the UTH table...it was very good to me last time & I'm hoping for a repeat!

Put in a 97% slot area, clearly mark it and promote it. 3% is still triple what your house edge at baccarat is and 3% of something is a whole lot more than 10% of nothing.

Curt: Thank you for your continued posts, updates, and being a suggestion box to Plaza management for your most sacred of customers. The "Smart" ones....so to speak.

I do have 1 question. Is there a game The Plaza could install using updated technology that is similar to sigma derby but using 21st century parts? I think that Plaza could surely use some infusion of life and I think a group of hooting and hollering folks all with a little coinage riding on the action could be a breath of fresh air in a casino where the last few times I entered except for the slot noise I felt like I was entering a funeral home.

This is not a knock on The Plaza at all.....It was at one time my favorite place to play and stay downtown. (Way back when Jackie owned it)....The place needs new life...and I think a social game like sigma could be that new life.

stayed a played (a little) last month. overall nice hotel with serious issues: garage parking elevator is disgusting. some front desk staff, very nasty to deal with, and the pool....dirty with staff hanging around doing nothing.

the worst? their only FP video poker would not accept or give points on the player cards....cheap and really how much can you save by not giving points?

nice rooms, TV, and decent rests. good sports book.

question for the host in regards to the Video Poker bars. What brand of energy drink is used on tap? Do you offer comp red bull drinks for VP play? By that I mean, is it authentic Red Bull out of a can?

Back in '10 or '11, I remember getting some really tasty energy drink on tap at the Plaza. I want to say the drink was made by SoBe, but then that changed for 2012. A few other bars downtown offered the authentic Red Bull out of a can, as comp to the VP players. Most people like to mix it with vodka, but sometimes me and the lady just want the caffene buzz of an energy drink by itself. Having real Red Bull at the bar would go a long way toward keeping us at your VP bartop machines. Also, do you still have progressive bonus VP, or progressive double double bonus VP? Those games were fun on our last trip.
