    Trips to Las Vegas:
    1
Hey everyone. Long story short I went to vegas last year, had a blast, went to the sapphire, got hosed out of a lot of money (lesson learned). But had a lot of fun during the vacation all around.

That said, I am actually now in the process of getting divorce papers (then filling them out, then filing, etc, etc) ready and everything (thankfully it's all amicable so no arguments). I went to vegas last year when I found out my wife was leaving me, pretty much just went to a travel agency, said 'if you can get me a 4 night 5 day trip for 550CAD or less, I'll book right now'. Well, it was $556 all in and we went.

Now, since the first time I went, I went with another person who couldn't afford to do much (had to loan them money, which was paid back fairly quickly) at all so I was held back in various things. Since then, I have been saving small amounts here and there and have saved enough to go back, but this time I am going to be going completely alone (with twice the amount of cash I had the first trip), so I can enjoy the sights, sounds, entertainment, etc. I am definitely not going back to the saphire again... wayyyyy too agressive is an understatement.

That said, as a solo traveller, what should I do? Last time I saw this Chris Angel show, mainly because the other person wanted to, it was alright, not really my thing. So, the 2 things I am going to do is that race track thing with the exotic cars + see that show that britney has on since I've heard some very good reviews since it was redone (never seen her before, and yes I know what to expect anyways). If Santana is around there when I go this time I will likely see that as well (Kind of funny to go from one extreme to the other as far as concerts go).

That said, I am a bit of an introvert, I don't have any problems talking to people, but I am also not likely to START a conversation. I didn't have this issue when I was there at a blackjack table last time. But I've never travelled alone and feel a bit wierd. Do many restaurants like the heart attack grille have a bar where single people can just relax and eat instead of getting a table for 1?

Lastly, this time around, I don't really care where I stay, so far the cheapest hotel for my stay is at Circus Circus. The reason I don't really care is because I won't be spending much time in the room, I'll be out and about. (that and the difference between circus circus and everywhere else is $150+)

Thanks for any insight or suggestions on what to do as a single, very soon to be divorced, maybe a little sad still but also a pretty happy person :D

Oh, and yes I know how to control my gambling that's not going to be a problem ;)

Ah, forgot to add, if anyone is going to be going from Oct 24-Oct 27 that's when I'm going, I wouldn't mind meeting up with other tourists or locals to chill out.

Welcome! If your other options from CC are near mid strip....it may be worth the extra $$.....CC is a long trek from most everything ..... Did you sign up for players cards at other casinos when you were there? Have you checked for offers from CET or MLife? Most LV restaurants are solo friendly. I was mostly solo on my last trip & really enjoyed the freedom....also met a lot of great folks to talk to. Good luck & keep us posted !

Welcome. A Caesar's property at mid-strip may not be that much of a difference when all is said and done. The ability to get from one property to another relatively easily may worth the cost of admission. Check out Linq, Harrah's and Flamingo if you haven't already. Heck, even Luxor at the far south end of the strip may comparable in price to CC and be better amenities, especially if you spend most of your time away from the room. Have fun!

Foolishly I never got players cards at anywhere that I played, my thinking was I'm only spending $100 or so so whats the point.

Prices as of right now (always changing) (Remember this is all in Canadian $)

    CC: $536
    Falmingo: $679
    Linq: $787
    Luxor: $1018

Like I said, I'd rather have more spending money and less time in my room, So I just may go with CC, I walked the entire strip + freemont street in 1 day last time I went, was a hell of a walk but it was worth it.

You should definitely not stay at CC. The location is not great for easily bopping from location to location.

Also from Canada, went last year and stayed @ the flamingo, prices this year are a little high, the cheapest I've found was Circus Circus and everyone is saying to stay as far away from that hotel as possible... is it that bad? (pm me to tell me about it please)

I don't mind CC as a casino, but the location is terrible unless you have a car. Flamingo is worth $150 more for 5 nights for the location alone, imo.
