1st post but been lurking for a while.Quick question for everyone. I've been to Vegas several times and really enjoy the escape from the real world. I do spend a lot of time at the tables when with my buds, but not really much time there when it's just me and my better half. My question is that my 15yr old son wants to go out there with me, I think we'd have a great time if its for a short 3 day stay. My wife doesn't think there's enough to do to keep us from being bored. It would be a summer trip, I think between hiking, maybe a Jeep tour swimming and just walking around would keep us busy(he sleeps late so I could get my gambling fix in the morning). Doable or not?

If you don't plan on doing a lot of gambling....sure it is doable. There are so many sights to see and places to visit outside of the casinos.....May depend on where you stay too. Also - many hotels have game rooms, movie theaters, bowling, etc

Welcome! Sure you could have a great time. There's plenty of stuff to do for such a short stay. Trust me... your son will be "bragging" to all his friends that he went to Vegas with you!

There is plenty to do! If he enjoys being active, you can choose from activities such as riding ATVs in the desert, riding the zip lines in the desert near Hoover Dam (we've ridden them in both hot and cold weather, and it's always great fun), taking a Pink Jeep tour in the desert, seeing Hoover Dam (the underground tour is technical and bores some folks, but everyone can enjoy the nice views of the Dam from the visitor center and Pat Tillman Bridge), and hiking at Valley of Fire or Mt Charleston.

    Enjoy!

Everyone's making my case better and better. I think anything to do with Pat Tillman would excite him. He breathes football 24-7 and he's had several uncles and great uncles serve in the military so he has a great interest in that also.Keep the ideas coming please. BTW does Las Vegas still have an Arena Football team and if so when is their season?

Both NBA summer league and AAU high school basketball tourneys can be found in Vegas during the summertime if you time it right.

You're a lucky father! Go for it.

Anytime your 15 year old son wants to do something with you...:nworthy:

    You guys will have fun!

And before I get skewered for thinking it's ok to take a 15 year old to Vegas, some kids can handle it. Great memories are made of such events.
