are there still a lot of places offering 10 cent lines in baseball? and if so, do they allow 10 cent lines in parlays too? when i say 10 cent line, I am meaning -120 comes back at +110.

The lines dont change in he parlays. You wont see many ten cent lines but in the near even cases.

When you walk up to the window and say "parlay" the sports book dir says "hurray". It's hard enough to win in baseball betting individual sides and totals, it's almost impossible in the long run to win betting parlays. The math doesn't work.

I got a local here in Madison that let's me parlay the money line and the run line of the same game. This is nuts I can take say the Braves
-130 and the Braves -1.5 +160 in the same parlay. Think about it I can get about 3 to 1 on a play like that instead of just taking the run line and getting +160. I put a 3 teamer for 50 in before the All Star with Brewers -120, Brewers -1.5 +185 and Brewers on the adj run line -2.5 +260.
Boom +840. I plan on putting some ML/line plays in for football this fall also.

It's only a problem if you can't pick winners. I hit 5 and 6 team parlays in baseball like their going out of style, plus I'm hitting all those games straight up but the NFL I can't pick winners on one game on the ML without the spread. So if you try to bet things you don't know about???? Yeah, you won't do well. For me on baseball the math works quite well.

I actually think that betting parlays is about the only way for the average bettor to win at sports betting in the long run, and that the math does work if you "do it right" and can figure out what the odds mean.

To that end, I think its also why US sportsbooks continue to use their system of listing odds instead of using fractions or decimals - it makes it harder to figure out payouts and odds for the average person.

As for baseball, it is hard to win because a lot of people just pick the favorites or the team with the best records... but if you look at who has the best record in MLB right now, Oakland, that even having the best record they are still losing 39% of all games they play... thats almost 2 out of every 5 games. And even looking at the best record in the modern era (Seattle, 2001) they lost 29% of the games they played, so even if a team is "the favorite" it doesn't mean they have a total lock on winning or even really some major advantage.

Parlay betters are a sportsbook's dream. In the long run you will lose. The only way to beat any sport in the long run is to be able to make better lines than the odds makers and then bet value. In this game info is king. You are onto something about people betting too many favs. Think about this math; if your average lay price in MlB is -150 you need to win 60% of your games to BREAK EVEN. How many teams are winning 60% of there games at this point of the season? There are 2, OAK & LAA.

They're the books dream only if they do it time after time.

The guy like me who will be in town maybe twenty total days a year and has a shot to take down an seven or eight teamer for a $100 shot once a day? I love taking those long shots for a huge pay out for minimal outlay.
